Description
The subject of this list is limited to discussion of topics (horse training) covered in the book, True Horsemanship Through Feel, by Bill Dorrance and Leslie Desmond, and Leslie's new audio book, A-Z Horsemanship "Through Feel".
A discussion of the new audio book will be started shortly.
For the benefit of our newer List members, and as a reminder to stay on topic, to encourage productive focus on the book, the Billsbook Team instituted three guidelines. These guidelines are:
- All Posts Titles MUST reference a Page Number and Heading from the Book. Example: Example: Let's say that I want to talk about getting a good transition to a halt. I find: [Page 165-66 Maintaining Softness Through the Stop.] That's my heading!
- All posts must reference SOMETHING in the book.
Example: If you want to respond to my questions or discoveries about stopping, read those pages listed in my title so we have a common ground. Help me see what I have missed or ask me what I learned.
- Leave other "Experts" out of it:
There are many incredible professional horsemen and Horsewomen who are worthy of your time and study. But, if there is a lifetime of learning about horsemanship through feel that was captured in Billsbook, that's enough for one list. Stay rooted to the book, always, while visiting here.
True Horsemanship Thru Feel can be used with any breed of horse: Appaloosa, Tennessee Walker, Missouri Fox Trotter, Paso Fino, Peruvian Paso, Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, Arabian, American Curly, Standardbred, Saddlebred, Andalusian, Mule, Belgian, Pony, Connemara, Clydesdale, Haflinger, Hanoverian, Icelandic, Kentucky Mountain, Rocky Mountain, Morab, Miniature, Fjord, Paint, Pinto, and Shetland.
