Special Announcement # 197 OK
It's only February 4 but ...
"100 citations have been written" already.
This is such an obvious ploy I am surprised we
have not seen this sooner. And the most likely
place for this to happen is in a city where the
dogparks are run by the same government entity
that is responsible for animal control.
In other words, if the county has the animal
control responsibilities, you are taking a greater
risk when you visit a county run dogpark
with an unregistered dog.

unlicensed pets
By Elizabeth Rhodes = erhodes@ seattletimes.com
Seattle Times staff reporter
Maddie was busted Saturday for cruising a park without
a license. A $20 dog license, that is. Fine: $125.

Elizabeth:
You did a nice job with this story but it seems like
it could have been written before 100 tickets were
issued.
In case you were wondering, Seattle is the first
city in the entire country to employ this tactic at
their local dogparks. If you find some other city
doing this, please tell me where it is.
This is NOTT going to make the dogparks safer and
the real intent is clearly to exploit dogowners.
But I guess Seattle dogowners should be happy the
city waited a month, and this wasn't done on
January 2 (?)

Other reporters are already using our group
archives to research dogpark stories and you
can use them too if you like.
