This is a forum for the constructive discussion of the Western Burrowing Owl in California. Negative disruptive comments that add no value will result in removal from this list. We want to know what actions are working. This is a CA. " Species of Concern" that needs the collective help from both the science and "citizen science" communities. This audience includes many nonprofits, birding groups, agencies, land owners and the general public. The intent is to collectively make an appreciable difference for the survival of the Western Burrowing Owl through timely thoughtful communications and action. Plan and simple... we need to work smart.

Suggested topics are - Sightings in California, current status and distribution, CBC and eBird updates,education, quality artificial habitats, banding, survey announcements, conservation and preservation ideas, success stories, advocacy, birding locations, and non-commercial announcements related to this species.
