With regard to my previous post about the lost Amazon in East Haven, he's
finally back home again!
The bird had been hanging around nearby, but finally left and was totally lost
for several days. Then one day someone heard a phone "ringing" in the backyard.
He went to invesigate why a tree would sound like a phone, and there was Sydney!
He came down for a cracker and went inside with the man, who had seen one of the
posted "lost" flyers. The man brought him back to his owner.
It's nice to be able to post a success story! So, remember if you lost your
bird, don't give up hope. Tell everyone you can think of, post a lot of flyers,
and do everything you can. I found out about the bird because the owner
notified the DEP, which notified all licensed wildlife rehabilitators in the
state, of which I am one.
