I came into the park and put our water on the picnic table which was
in the sun/grass area that day, then I stood underneath the canopy of
the trees trying to get some relief from the heat. During our visit
that day, I scolded the "the boys" a few feet from the ditches on
either side, and then hooked them up to their leashes by the back
field that over looks the playground.

Our search Friday was cut short due to the weather.

We hope to do another search by Monday evening.

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Take Care.

Hi,

I'm new to this group and to the dog park. We were there last week,
and I was just reading the posts, my dog has his own "dogster" page
too! We had a great time, the boys(furry and human) were TIRED after!

Bezhig LOVES the park! So does Milkshake:) Feel free to add Bezhig to
your dogster.com page, he'd love more friends!

Have a GREAT day!

Iona

Some gal visiting dog park last weeks said she did call the parks dept;
and three (yes 3!!)people called her back saying they would be mowing.

I just called Greg Ingel at the Parks Dept. and left message today to
get them moving on it. If we could just get it mowed between entrance
and picnic table and along one side a bit. Hopefully someone shows up.

If my riding lawn mow was running (still working on it), I'd just bring
it over and do it myself.

What a great place. I see the same people about everytime I take
Morgan out. It is a great place to chat with other dog parents and to
let her explore the surroundings and other dogs. Morgan is 1/2 choc.
lab and 1/2 Walker Coonhound. She originally is from North Carolina. I
enjoy watching her run off her excess energy and to run with the other
dogs. What a great place it is and I thank the city for letting her
run and play.

In case you've been wondering how I'm doing since my oh-so dramatic
exit from the park on Clean Up Day...with fire, police and ambulance
escorts no less...I broke my ankle and did a very nice job of it. I've
got some pins on one side and some pins and a plate on the other. But,
other than that, I'm fine. Abby's loving the extra attention she's
been getting with me being laid up. So needless to say, you won't be
seeing me there for a while. Word to the wise...avoid walking near the
ditches! That's what got me.
Enjoy the park and don't forget to...
Pick up the poo!! :)

I didn't know about clean up day until I was at the park. It was
eventful the fire department was there. Abby's mom hurt her ankle. I
hope that she is O.K. Frodo's mom and sister have been busy and he
hasn't been to the park much last week. We are camping this weekend
and Frodo is loving it. He's all smiles and tail wags.

I don't have a little dog, so it wouldn't make much difference to me. I can see why some people with small dogs would like a seperate space though. Of course, they could end up in that seperate space by themselves, being that there aren't always a ton of small dogs out there.

It's also asking a lot for the city to pay for adding a small dog area. As it was, they didn't have to do a whole lot to create the dog park as it is now. just add the double gate and mow down the weeds.

I think a big help would be making sure that people's dogs are under control while in the park. There are days I get there and just know which dogs are a problem. People with problem dogs need to know it, and do something about it.

I will be out of town that day. As someone who lives near the dog park,
I'd like to thank whoever is able to go out there and clean it up.
It'll be a lot easier for other residents to tolerate the park if we
all take care of it and keep it cleaned up!

Hi all! Reba and Skye's pet mom here.

Dodger's mom: are you the one who started the yahoo group? I was one
of the people in the pet first aid class at Andover YMCA we attended
awhile back. Still haven't run into you at the park!!

Another park visitor and I discussed a clean up day. She has posted
a poll question. Even though I have been passing the word along, I
don't think a lot of pet parents know this site exists. I am
planning on printing up a little card, laminate it, and place one by
each of the doggie doo doo bag dispensers. Hope it would create some
play groups, fun pix, and help upkeep. I have call into park guy --
just to make sure he doesn't consider the yahoo group notice
a "solicitation" and pulls it off. Hey -- we are trying to keep the
park nice so shouldn't be complaints, right!!!

Reba is looking for Jackson the german shepard for some rough house
play! Min pins just don't tucker her out. If anyone knows his pet
parent, please pass this yahoo group info to her.

See you at the park! in Snow???? Saturday
