while it doesn't seem very likely that this horse makes it to Canada, you
never know, and it wouldn't hurt to keep our eyes open. We all know how we
would feel were it our own horse gone missing.

I am forewarding out what our local Sheriff emailed me, with pic's of
our horse and his brand, if you zoom in on the top picture you will see the
brand clearly. I have colored flyers I'm sending around also, and the pic's
on this email are the same. Please spread this far and wide if you would.
We are devestated by someone stealing our colt!
He had just come home from 3 mos. of professional training in Klamath
Falls, Oregon, trained by Odie Wright (he's heavily into team penning and
cutting). This colt we raised from 7mos. old was to be my husbands future
Roping Horse and all around cow horse. Someone somewhere will see him, and
that's the only way to find him. It's not like a stolen car with a license
plate where the cops are looking, you know?
Det. Darrel Lemos has gone way beyond what you would expect from law
enforcement....but then he's a team roper! Ü We are ever so greatful for
his compassion and hard work on this case.
Please, all we ask is you pass this far and wide. Get a mental
picture of the horse. He is brownish-black. He is not a 'true' bay. He
turns black in the winter and lightens up in the summer to a brownish-black
with black mane, tail and legs. The pic's you'll see were taken Sept. 2002.
Also, remember the brand, a 'Flying A Bar'. If anything, remember that
brand. If you see it on a horse anywhere, please call your sheriff's dept.
or local brand inspector and report it as a stolen horse, and you can call
Detective Darrel Lemos whose letter and info. is below. They'll impound the
horse til proper identification.
This is the ONLY way we will recover our horse. I'm asking for your
eyes and a quick call to report sighting this horse.
With many thanks, and God Bless!

Subject: Stolen Quarter Horse pictures and of brand
Importance: High
Please help locate this 2 1/2 year old dark bay Quarter Horse
Gelding! (He has a freeze beand on his right hip). See attached photos.
He was stolen early morning of 10-05-02 from a residence in
Hornbrook, California. The owners, John and Susan Abner would appreciate
any and all assistance you can give them in locating their 2 1/2 year old
horse. He is very gentle and has just had three months of training. I
believe the horse may be in route to Oregon, Idaho, or father East, but it
is unknown at this time.
They bought the horse when he was under a year old out of Oregon.
They have raised it from a colt and it has been with their other roping
horse. The colt has not been away from the house, until recently. John had
the horse trained in Klamath Falls Oregon for three months. The horse was
home for three weeks, before it was stolen from behind their residence. I
believe someone who saw the horse, while it was in Klamath Falls Oregon took
a liking to it and decided to steal the horse.
Please assist me and the Abners in locating their horse. (If you
have seen this horse, please call me immediately at Dispatch 530-841-2900,
Desk 530-842-8765, or call John and Susan Abner at 530-475-0435).
Pictured is the actual brand used to freeze brand the horse. It is
approximately 4 inches in width and 3 inches in heigth, located on the right
hip. The picture of the brand on the horse, is taken from the remaining
horse to show what it looks like on when put on a horse.
Please forward this message to everyone you know, in attempt to
locate this horse. Sincerely Det. Darrel Lemos Siskiyou Co. Sheriff's Dept.
