The Dallas Bird Society was organized in 1948 by a group of individuals who saw the need to join efforts to increase their knowledge of exotic birds. The club has grown with a membership from throughout North Texas and extending to other states. The DBS is dedicated to the purpose of promoting education, conservation, research and other activities that contribute to the welfare of exotic birds and other avian species. The club over the past several years has raised money for avian conservation and research organizations dedicated to avian species. The Dallas Bird Society is a 501c charitable organization.
