Dog Transport Volunteers is a group for animal lovers who want to help with transports, pull from shelters, overnight/temp foster, or help with other rescue functions.
There are many organizations in the United States Canada that need help safely rescuing across multiple states/provinces. This group provides organized databases containing member information and the tasks for which they are available, a nationwide network to which we can refer for help.
The big difference with this group is that you will not be overwhelmed with hundreds of messages full of unnecessary or irrelevant information. This group is strictly moderated, making it easy to determine if you even need to open a message. Each e-mail is formatted with a uniform, specific subject line that allows you to quickly see what kind of rescue help is needed and what state(s) are involved. You can also browse the databases for volunteers in the state(s) involved find their direct e-mail (and sometimes phone) contact information rather than wait for a reply to a post or them to read all the message boards.
The Transport Database is set up in a spread sheet style, easy to scan for your state city, with coordinator contact information included. There are individual databases for each rescue function members are willing to do. Databases included are: Contact List of all Members, Transport Coordinators, Upcoming Transports, Overnights or short term hold for transport, Home Visits, Pulls, Shelter Volunteers or contacts, DNA, and Long Distance Drivers (l time vacation, or on a regular route).
With member information in our databases, we can network and save more animals.
Because there is personal contact information in our Databases, you will need to join to participate. This is to protect our current members’ privacy.
