It is time again to plan for judging insect-related projects at the
Delaware Valley Science Fairs for the AES Calvert Awards. As is
indicated below in the pasted message from DVSF, the date is Wednesday,
April 1.

I will be able to judge this year, but I would like at least two other
judges to help out. Please let me know if you can judge this year. If
you can, please also register on-line as a special Awards judge, for the
AES Calvert Award. If you can't judge and know someone who can, please
forward this message to them and have them contact me. This is during
UD's Spring Break. Undergraduates with a good entomology background can
be judges.

The 61st Delaware Valley Science Fairs (DVSF) will be held at the
Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.  Judging day will be on
Wednesday, April 1st.  I hope that your schedule will allow you to
participate.  Registration is now open.  Please go to our website
<www.dvsf.org> and click on ‘Judges’ on the Menu.  Then click on
‘On-Line Registration’.  This is a full day’s commitment.  We will
provide a continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks.  It is
important for students to meet people, such as you, because that
experience enriches their education and perhaps encourages them to
pursue a career in science and technology.  It also provides you with a
chance to see how science education is progressing in our schools, and
to contribute to that process.  A few minutes of professional contact
with a student scientist or engineer may make a life-time of difference
in their career

We will be sending out a final confirmation in mid-March to those judges
that have registered for 2009.  All correspondence is done through
e-mail so it’s important that we have your correct e-mail address.
Letters to supervisors will go out after we receive your Registration Form.

This is our first year at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.  We are
excited about this new facility and the management are the same people
who ran the Fort Washington Expo Center; so they know our program.
Directions are on our website.  We do not expect any traffic problems
this year because the turnpike construction project has been completed.
  In addition, most regular commuter traffic will be going in the other
direction.
