Subject: Regal Butterfly Tours at Ft. Indiantown Gap
Regal Butterfly Tours
Information for the regal fritillary butterfly tours at Fort Indiantown Gap
(FIG) has just become available. Please read the full press release from the
link below.
We will meet at the FIG Recreation Center at the intersection of Asher Miner
Road, Clement Ave, and Route 443, Annville PA (brown building with a green metal
roof).
Registration is at 8:30 am, ~2. 5 hour guided tours begin precisely at 9 am -
July 2, 3, 4, 10, and 11. Please be prompt as we will not make accommodations
for those arriving after 9.
Tours will be outdoors in the field. Wear appropriate clothes and shoes,
sunscreen, and bug spray if desired. Water will be provided. We will follow
gravel roads and mowed grass trails with the possibility of encountering ticks,
poison ivy, briars, or other unwelcome attractions.
Tours may not be appropriate for infants and toddlers.
Reservations or pre-registrations are not required. No rain dates will be made.
The event is rain or shine…the sunnier the weather, the more likely a tour is to
see a regal. There is no guarantee that regals will be seen, but we have been
lucky so far.
