Description

A discussion group delving into the practical and scientific aspects of herbal therapies in the horse. However, this list is not only limited to medicinal botany and therapy. Any medical modality is fair game and ripe for discussion. I am like the Eclectic physicians of that 19th century medical movement in America in that I prefer to pick the best of all things with the goal of restoring health. The performance horse with his unique problems and how they may be treated with medicinal herbs will be the center piece to this site's discussions, but any horse's health from the pasture broodmare to the racehorse will be on topic. To the right is an old photo of a pacing mare that I trained and raced in the 1970s. She is pictured at the now leveled track, Brandywine Raceway once one of the most beautiful horse racing plants located in Wilmington, Del. She is being whirl-pooled.
