Erinveine is about breeding to the UK breed standard a dog that is fit, athletic, healthy, and easy to live with (for maintenance and attitude).

The Clumber came to us a heavy set working dog, and the standard still demands this. It appals me to see the breed labelled as a drooling shedding mess that saunters from carpet to rug, and that is his soul acclaim to modern notoriety. This is an indictment on the modern breeder and owner and a massive insult to those who established the breed. Let's rally, come to our senses, and get back on the middle road - avoid the extremes that the show world can demand and reward AND avoid the extremes that the competitive field trial seems to demand and reward.

Ow, and I also abhor the palaver of dog politics, it has no place within the Clumber breed as it is so alien to the true nature of a Clumber, so let's follow our breed's example on this point too.
