I don't know if anyone is out there but I have a situation with one of my GSD's.
He's the only male in a pack of 4. One female is spayed the other 2 older ones,
8 and 9 yr olds are not spayed. He has not been neutered either. He has become
aggresive in certain situations and am wondering if anyone has done any EFT on
this kind of situation. I believe this is partly a learned behavior because he's
with his mother and she's possesive over food, toys. Only with other dogs. Not
with me. But he has learned this possesiveness and now at 5 yrs of age is top
dog to her. And he's very sensitive to people's emotions. More so than any dog
I've ever had. He picks up on the slightest bit of anxiety, anger, or fear and
he reacts to it. Once I was moving something fencing outside and the end hit him
on the head by accident and I went over and was checking to make sure he was
okay, and I babied him, I know that was a mistake, then I saw that he was
shaking, he's a big chicken, and I did the wrong thing by going Oh you poor
baby, kind of thing and he started growling, well I thought he was growling at
his mother who had come to investigate and then he growled one more time and
then he jumped at me. I turned my back and stood still. He didn't try to bite,
but he got down and then did it one more time. I realize I shouldn't have babied
him and I'm not doing that anymore. But I'm wondering if there is some kind of
energy work I could do on him ( and I'm doing EFT on me) to overcome my fear of
him now. I don't trust him anymore. I'm actually considering rehoming him.
First, and I know you will say this, I'm going to have him neutered. But he is
afraid of alot of things and maybe that's part of the aggression.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Val

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been reading or posting for a few years, but am back!

Much has changed, my two senior dear dogs have passed on, my foster dog Lady
found a home and we have a new dog, now 2.5 yrs (30lb b/t short-haired mixed
breed). I am also now a holistic dog trainer/healer.

Jessie was a pound puppy and we got her at 7 mos. While she appeared to be a
confident outgoing dog, she is not. She has/had many underlying (hidden) fears.
In the last 2 years, I have been using positive methods to desensitize and
counter condition for her fear issues. I also combine energy work such as Reiki,
TTouch and other holistic methods such as herbals etc.

Recently I ran across EFT and started using it again. (Mostly thanks to a client
who uses it on her family-but ironically not her dogs.) I still had the handbook
on my desktop!

Turns out Jessie is very sensitive to its effects! After just an evening
session, the next day she no longer reacted to my feet being near her. She used
to jump up and leave the couch or at the very least, stand up then lie down
again away from my feet. Yesterday she not only didn't move when my feet were
near (esp in the big booties I wear), but she draped herself across them and
slept on them twice!
I also noticed that she slept more soundly on the couch during the day.

I also tapped for a few other issues she has and tonight, she slept under the
covers with me, she didn't move a muscle for almost 5 hours. Usually she
complains (by moaning or even growling-on one occassion snapped at hubby) when
we move or flip over and gets up and moves in what appears to be disgust, coming
out from under the covers. Not a peep tonight!

I am looking forward to using it on her other fears (big hairy dogs, rain
falling in the forest, etc) and watching the results!

Linda,

Thank you for reading my online comment. I don't know how to get the word
out. I can't believe that just my dog and my Dad's dog are the only ones
who went down with seizures after ingesting rosemary. There must be others
and they just don't know about it. I realize that people believe in the use
of herbs but dog's systems are different than ours. We've all read about
the dangers of some people foods for our pets, but no one has reported on
the dangers of herbs.

I first read about some dogs having a low threshold to seizures reading the
forum on dogster.com. Wikipedia is where I read about rosemary causing
convulsions and seizures.

Warmest regards,
Diane

With reference to seizures...

My black lab experienced his first seizure at age 7. It came from nowhere. The
vet checked him out and said it was an isolated situation. Less than a year
later it happened again. It was around the time that I was researching about
dog food.

The world was recovering from the dog food poisoning from China's actions and I
was now desperate to learn more about ingredients. That's when I came across a
high quality dog food. I purchased it and gave it to my dog. Days later he had
a seizure. I didn't tie it to the dog food until my Dad called me to tell me
his dog just had a seizure.

My Dad had brought some of the new dog food home to have his dog try. His dog
experienced a seizure about 3-hours after consuming the food. That's when I
knew it was connected to the food. I asked my vet if the dog food could have
been the cause of the seizures in both dogs. He replied... probably not.

Unsettled with that response, I researched the internet and after hours of
browsing I came across information about ROSEMARY. Rosemary can cause
convulsions and seizures. Some dogs and cats have a low threshold to rosemary.

I went to the dog food bag and read the ingredients. There it was... ROSEMARY.

The internet also stated that there has been an upward swing with dogs and cats
both getting seizures. And... there has also been an upward swing with pet
products containing rosemary. Most companies are going "all natural" and are
adding rosemary.

I then had to rack my brain to remember if I had given him rosemary causing his
first seizure. And then I remembered. I had been on a kick of eating cheese
and crackers. The crackers were Triscuits with Olive Oil and Rosemary. I
remembered giving my dog some. And it was a 3-hour window of when he got the
seizure.

Rosemary is no longer allowed in my home. I read all labels. My dog is now 9
years old and my Dad's dog is 7 years old and both have been seizure-free.

When I mentioned this to my vet, he really didn't sound like he believed me
about rosemary. Just imagine how many dogs and cats are being poisoned with
rosemary unbeknownst to their owners and then are receiving horrible drugs to
counteract the seizures. It's a travesty. And it's a travesty when your own
vet thinks you're nuts!

EFT has succeeded in similar cases of horse phobias, here are some suggestions:

1. This is really important. Tap for your own concerns and beliefs on this - "I
am so anxious about what might happen on the road...", "I can't imagine he'll
ever change", "there's no reason for it", "its not safe", "its ridiculous" etc
etc

2. Begin by explaining to him you want to help with his phobia, that you are
only going to use words and energy and he is quite safe and nothing will be
forced. Then begin surrogate tapping for him by stating you are tapping as
"horses name" - I repeat the "I am Dobbin" wherever it fits in easily throughout
a session.

At first help him voice the problem and accept it:
Even though I have this extreme fear of cows I deeply accept myself as I am.
reminders - I have this fear; I can't cope; but it's ok to be afraid; I am a
strong sensitive
horse; I accept my fear; It's fine, it's ok

Then move to being understood:
Even though I have this extreme cow fear I trust I am understood and will not be
forced to go near them.
reminders - I'm so afraid of those cows; afraid of what might happen; I
don't want to be forced; it's not safe; perhaps she understands now; perhaps I
can trust her; I think she respects my fear; I think she will support and
understand me; I think she still values me.

Then onto the possibility of being safe and less fearful (still only the
possibility at this stage as something more definite could be rejected):
Even though I have had this cow fear for so long I choose to see the possibility
that they are truly no threat, that they are grass eaters too and probably also
quite frightened, maybe I can relax a little.
Reminders "I have been so scared; how can I ever let this go; being scared
keeps me safe; although I have noticed cows are herbivores too...; perhaps they
are scared of me!; maybe they aren't such a threat; I guess I could relax a
little and still be safe... etc

Then a little more certainty:
Even though I have found cows so frightening I now choose to see they are big
grass guzzling herbivores and no threat to me.
Even though cows were once so terrifying I choose to be calm, I can be aware of
them and I recognise I am capable of reacting to any threat with ease. I can run
faster and jump higher and they are generally more afraid of me, poor cows
(horses like irony and humour!).
Even though I was scared of cows I choose to be relaxed about them, I'm safe,
I'm free, everything is fine.

I am always happy to use sophisticated language and humour with animals, I
believe they get the meaning. These are just ideas and you might see ways to
make them more relevant to your situation - the one benefit of being completely
removed is that someone else will be more objective, so there is a balance of
advantages and disadvantages...

You might like to use this also when there is a distant possibility of cows, so
before its a full on red alert. It's so easy to adapt to each situation I'm sure
with persistence you will succeed. It may require some imagination to tap into
the basis of his concerns.

If you'd like someone to do distant surrogate work I'm happy to oblige if you
email a photo and names.

Best wishes for supreme cow confidence!!!

hello everyone
i am very excited to find this group. I am an equine massage
therapist, reiki 2 practioner, and currently looking into new energy
techniques to add to my practice, as well as to use on my own
animals. everyone seems friendly and helpful, which is sometimes rare
in a group. my most recent barn call was to help a horse who had
foundered, and i did the whole massage while she laid down. i later
that night sent some distance reiki, and heard some favorable feedback
from the owner. i know that there will always be things to learn, and
am happy to find like minded animal lovers out there!

Hi Sharon,

Did I ever get back to you with my friend's email address? If not,
let me know. I also recommend Sharon Callahan, who also makes custom
flower essence formulas. Her web site is: www.anaflora.com

I hope you're well and getting to some acceptance and happiness. I'm
still very aware of Dixie being gone and somtimes very sad, but we
are going to get another dog, and Dixie is "preparing" that dog for
us now, thanks to a post-death communication session with her. What a
wonderful service this is!

Love to you and take care,
Virginia

Thank you all for the suggestions. A massage therapist came over
yesterday evening and worked on him. There was an INSTANT improvement
in his ability to use his front leg after the session. He continues to
improve every day and I'm hopeful that he will regain full use of his
legs. I will continue to use the techniques the therapist showed me to
make sure of it!!! :)

you might consider some acupressure or even acupuncture, if you have a local vet
who does it, & if you can afford it. if not, . there's a book called _four
paws, five directions_ by schwartz dvm that could likely be of benefit & will
teach you how to do some of the accupressure yourself. gently massaging the
toepads, & gently (as he'll tolerate) in between the toes might be of value.
also, some tellington ttouch circle work could be of value, also, by linda
tellington jones. hopefully you can find these books at your library. gently
working the tail seems it might could be of benefit. finding someone local who
can do some massage, energy work or touch could be helpful, if you aren't
confident to be doing yourself.

best wishes to you both!

Please help! Memphis is my 11mo American Hairless Terrier. He is just a
baby, and he suffered a spinal cord stroke on Thursday. He is partially
paralyzed on his right side - both right legs. The Dr. said I should
see dramatic improvement over the weekend, but there has been no
   change.

Please help me to help him.

   Thank you,

Kelly, do you have a photograph of Memphis you could email to me? It
doesn't have to be one taken recently; it can be of him at any age. I could
then
give him some radionic treatment to help with the healing.

Best wishes,
Hilary

   Hello Sharon,

I don't know if you're still reading this group, but if you are, my
cat Max could really use some healing energy right now. He hasn't
been eating right, lost a lot of weight and today the vet did xrays
and ultra sound and found an enlarged and oddly shaped liver and some
sort of abdominal mass that they couldn't identify.

Max is a brown tabby with the most
beautiful green eyes, I can send a photo if you want.

Hi, Virginia... I just read your post and wanted to offer condolences on the
lost of your lovely Dixie.  I am glad her passing was so transparent to you
because of your friend.  It does seem that knowing is helpful.  I also lost a
dear dog in January of this year.  She was one of my foster's (Maggie) and died
in a horrible accident in January and I still working that out.  I am very
curious to know the contact information for your friend as I need to know some
things I cannot figure out from that awful day.  Thank you for offering to share
that information.

I hope your the rawness of your grief continued to be less because of your
friend's help.

God bless
Sharon

Hello Mel,

My beloved dog Dixie lay in my arms this afternoon as the vet helped
her to gently die. She's been fading over the last year, becoming
frail as lady in her 80s might. But last night, she experienced
something like a brain embolism and couldn't walk this morning. Our
friend is a gifted interspecies communicator who specializes in the
death process, and when I called her she let me know that Dixie was
telling her that she was not going to get better and wanted help with
her dying. It made such a difference having this friend there with
us. She was able to tell us exactly the moment that Dixie was ready
to go and checked several times before our vet (who, bless her heart,
respects my friend's ability and the wishes of the animals she
serves) administered the death potion....in a very mundane but sacred
moment, Dixie breathed her last breath as I sang Four Strong Winds to
her, with husband, friend and vet joining in between the tears.

Dixie, a lovely and fine-boned Australian Cattle Dog was a 7 year old
abused and abandoned rescue dog when I found her, and since coming
home with me has never once voluntarily left my side. A more devoted
friend I could not even conceive of. Much like your doggie, she
literally ate her way out of the kennel we tried to test out one day
(wire fencing!) -- no way was she letting her true love get away!
After that, I surrendered my "life plan", such as it was, and changed
my life to accommodate her need to be with me, and I found great
medicine for myself in this arrangment, magically dropping people who
did not understand and finding some very special new friends who did.
Thanks to Dixie, I found energy medicine, quantum transformation
tools, magic, and a way of loving that I had never felt worthy or
capable of before.

Sorry, I guess I'm eulogizing a bit here. It's been only a few hours,
and I don't know what to do with myself.

What I do want to focus on is how valuable the communication work has
been for me in all this (and was also last summer, when the same
friend communicated with the spirit consciousness of a dear friend of
my youth who had died suddenly). One thing that was very comforting
to me was how Dixie described how, as a dog in spirit, it would be so
much easier to be at my side AT ALL TIMES. In spirit, she informed
me, she doesn't have to wait in the car, or wait for me to come home
from trips. She can go anywhere with me, while also being with my
husband -- and not feeling guilty about having to decide. Loyal and
brilliant strategist to the end! ;o)

Also, thanks to animal communication, I know her wishes for her body
-- she wants cremation, and to have her ashes scattered on all of our
favourite walks, 7 in total. So I have no worries that I'm doing all
the right things by her. I also know that all of the "magic/energy
work" I've done for her has been extremely helpful for her spiritual
growth - wow!

This dog has opened my heart and consciousness up to the point where
I can now trust that some day, in some way, we will meet again, and
that our meeting will be joyous indeed. In the meantime, I comfort
myself knowing, via my animal communicator, that her puppies and
mother and hundreds of other Cattle Dogs are there playing and
wagging and feeling very pleased to have her there with them. I can
live with that.

All of this is by way of saying, do seek out a good animal
communicator, one who specializes in "big picture" communication
focused on spiritual growth and end-of-life conversations.

If you want to contact my friend, email me privately and I will
send you her email address. I know she prefers to work with a picture
of the being she is communicating with, and I imagine others would
find that a quick way to connect with the unique energy signature of
your late and beloved friend. Knowing what I know from Dixie and my
friend who has provided human/animal communication in countless death
and bereavement situations, your darling dog will be wanting to know
that she is well, wishing happiness and laughter for you, and that
she will find ways, if you're open to it, to let you know that she is
always with you now.

My sincere condolences, from one grieving "mother" to another,
Virginia

I've just learned about your loss. My deepest condolences. I
understand exactly what your are going through. My Musetta, 17, cat,
had to be put to sleep on July 26. It's been one of the most
difficult decision I've ever made. I've been with her until the end.
Then I put her in her crate, lit a candle, some incense and talked
to her about our life together and all the joy she gave me. I'm
deeply grateful that she chose to spend this one lifetime with me of
all people. I told her to go without turning back. My love goes
beyond life and death. I feel she at peace now. All my love to you

I just want to send out thank yous to everyone who emailed me. You all
sent such womderful uplifting words and I deeply thank you for it.

It is truly hard when a dear animal passes and sometimes it's harder
then at others. From time to time we are blessed to have that one
animal that is some how different then the others. The one that touches
our lives in ways we can't always find the words that fit just right.

Knowing I am not the only one who has felt this way makes my heart that
much more at peace. Sometimes, in this world it is easy to feel alone
when so many disregard animals as nothing more the objects. I feel that
this group has a clear understanding that animals just as people have

Thank you again from me and from my Annabell Sunshine, who I am sure is
very thankful to you for helping me through her passing.

Hi Mel,
I hope you find comfort in the beautiful reply from Virginia. In the
last few years we have had a few beloved dogs go back to source, and
that beautiful reply helped me. I could feel how much you missed her
in your post.

Thank you Virginia.

I have always found a new friend to help ease the loss very soon
after, and if I was able to rehome a dog, that was even better.
It makes me feel a lot better that I can give a dog a new happy life
who otherwise may have no life at all.

I am sure you will find another very loving and grateful dog, and SOON !

   hello,

I am new here and was wondering if any of you can talk to animals in
   spirit?

I know for many of you it might seem odd but I know some people can
   do it.

Last week my very beloved dog died and I have no idea why. The vet
thinks it was her heart but I would feel better about it if someone
could talk with her and find out what she has to say.

I got this dog a few years ago from a lady in a parking lot. This
lady had been keeping her tied up in her back yard for years. I felt
so sorry for her I took her.

Her life was very different with me. She was always by my side.
Inside, outside, at the lake, at the park, everywhere. I was very
lucky and only worked on the weekends. I worked 16hrs Sat. and Sun.
When I worked I had to have a sitter stay with her because the first
time I left her she jumped out of a window, I guess trying to find
   me.

My mother stayed with her most of the time and she would tell me the
dog looked out of the window waiting for me to get home.

Anyway, just thought I would ask.

   Mel
