Dumping of fish   Message List

Hallo all,
We are all concerned about the decline of fish populations, and how this has
been affecting breeding seabird numbers. A Scottish fishing boat was filmed
dumping at least 5 ton of fish by a Norwegian fisheries inspection ship. The
dumping was on the British side of the North Sea, a few hundred yards from
the Norwegian section. If the dumping took place in the Norwegian section
the ship would have been taken under arrest. The fish were too small to be
of economical interest and the captain didn't want to use up his quota with
fish that would fetch a low price at the fish market. To see the video click
on the link below. It's crazy. No wonder that fish stocks are running out.
