Sherawater day at Cap Gris-nez !
A combination of yesterday's good winds in the Northern North Sea and strong
South-Westerlies in the Channel produced a good influx of shearwaters :
Former Balearic Sherawater record (18 birds) was annihilated with at least
84 birds, all of them flying south !!!
772 Manx Shearwaters with groups of up to 80 birds (by far also a new
best-ever day total)
98 Sooty Shearwaters
67 unidentified very distant Manx/Balearic Shearwaters, thought to be most
probably manx's
Also 1 Sabine's Gull, 1 adult Long-tailed Skua, 42 Arctic, 1 Pomarine and 42
Bonxies, ...
Full counts at

Keep seawatching !
Nicolas
