Actually, we have only 1 that does that. And it is very annoying. :) He
'scoops' the food out over the top of the bowl forwards with his nose. It goes
all outside the cage & I periodically have to vacuum between the wall & cage. I
wondered why they were going through so much food... LOL. Don't worry, it's
pretty normal. They actually make bowls with a big half circle over the top. I
think they're called dig-proof bowls? I don't remember the exact name.

Thank you. I will look into it and keep you posted. Zoe needs a friend...I know
I can never replace my boys...but I can't have her lonely either :(
She loves to dig her food out of the food dish....making a HUGE mess lol is this
normal? My boys NEVER did it.

(I swear I'm not trying to sound this pushy, but it's going to come out like
that anyway LOL)
You should contact them anyway. There are probably people closer to you than you
think who regularly go up there, so you would just have to make the initial
visit for you & Zoe to meet the kids there & then if you decide to adopt one,
someone could probably bring him/her to you on their way back toward you. And
who knows, maybe she won't have the one or two you're looking for, but just
maybe, if you don't contact her, you'll miss the next great ferret(s) meant to
be in your life. :)

Thank you. Naples is over 4hours from me :( But I was talking with my boyfriend
and he agrees that Zoe needs a friend. Maybe 2 :) I am definitely going to look
into adopting/rescuing a ferret. Want to get 1-2 close to her age though. And
possibly ones that look different then my boys...it would be too heart breaking
to have lil replicas of my boys runnin around and it wasnt them :(

Tracy, I'm so sorry for your doubly sad loss. I can not imagine losing two so
close together.
If you would like some help finding a new buddy for Zoe or just someone to talk
to, this is my suggestion.
I don't know how far this is from you, but you should contact the Lakeroad
Ferret Farm Rescue Shelter in Naples NY. Here is their website.
http://www.ferretfa rm.org/
Poke around on the site, contact Brenda (oh now I'm doubting myself -- that may
not be her name), see what happens. Even if she doesn't have any adoptables, the
shelter could always use another volunteer & I'm sure Zoe would have a blast
playing with the other ferrets there.
Let us know what happens.

Thank you...the first picture is my boys...Rambo is the dark one (sable) and
Patrick is the light one (silver) then the next picture is my Zoe. How can I
find a rescue or shelter with ferrets? I'm in NY near Albany.

Rambo and Patrick would insist that you get another fuzzy to keep Zoe company
and give comfort to you. Find a shelter and rescue a lost one.

So remember how I told you my almost 8 year old ferret, Rambo had to be put down
from insulinoma?? Well ONE WEEK TO THE DAY later my other male who was almost 7,
Patrick ended up with it really bad...we got him on medicines and shots and I
was hand feeding him every 3-4hrs...He passed away about 8:30pm last night. 2
WEEKS TO THE DAY I lost Rambo :( I'm so lost and sad right now...such a big loss
so close together :( Now I don't know what to do...Should I get my lil girl Zoe
who is almost 6mnths old a new friend or will she be okay alone? I just don't
know what to do right now...
