Hey Drew, this is Jamie, we spoke on the phone today about the Fila in need
of a foster home. I spoke to my boyfriend and acquired more info on the
dog..

His name is Thor, he is 3 years old and about 100 - 115 lbs. Thor is up
to date on all shots/ heartworm etc. to his knowledge. He is neutered. He
has been living in a home with my boyfriends ex wife and their two kids,
ages 10 and 2. He is good with the kids, family, and friends but is a little
weary about strangers. He doesn't have any formal training but my
boyfriend states that he does listen to firm commands.

Apparently he has been trying to contact the breeder but they are no longer
in business. The breeder was "Renegade Kennels" and it was located at
1120 W. Emmaus Ave in Allentown PA. When I called the company no one pics up
the phone, and when I googled the address it is some kind of roofing/
contracting company now.

The ONLY reason why he has to give this dog up currently is because he is
going through a divorce and he cannot keep the dog at his apartment, and
his ex wife is being evicted in a couple of weeks from the house they shared.
Like I said in our earlier conversation, she has an appointment to put
the dog to sleep on 7/16/09. When speaking with my boyfriend, ideally he
would like someone to foster the dog until we can find a place that will allow
large breed dogs, and yes, that means he loves this dog enough to lose his
current apartment and security deposit to keep him. Thor is part of their
family, so you can understand why he feels this way! But it is
understandable if that can't happen, since we have no idea how long it will
take to
find a place that will allow such a big dog, but we have been looking. I
spoke with my landlord and he said I can keep the dog for a couple of weeks but
it's only on a temporary basis because he understands the situation.

Please, if there is ANYONE you know in this area that is willing to foster
this dog let me know. I understand that we only had one phone
conversation about Thor, but I want to be sure that if we give this dog to you
or
someone you know that he will be taken care of. We would like to meet the
people before giving thor up, and we would also like to be kept in the loop as
far as where he might go in the future.

I might be jumping the gun here, I know you haven't found anyone
interested yet.. but please let me know. The news from my landlord at least
gives
us a couple more weeks to figure out what to do with this dog.
