Hardness and alkalinity levels will not necessarily be reflected in you pH values. Alkalinity has a direct effect on pH but should still be tested separately....

I don't know if adding straight calcium will do the trick. I use SeaChem's Equilibrium to raise GH if necessary and their Lake Malawi Buffer will raise KH....
