This list is to bring attention to the differences between the "modern" type Morgan and the "traditional" old style Morgan. Why it is so important? Because we want to preserve the look and the bloodlines that made the Morgan Horse so unique.
The Morgan Horse was bred to be a versatile horse with the stamina to pull the plow all day in the field, the beauty to take the family to church on Sunday, the talent to show at the county fair and the gentle, kind disposition of a loyal companion for all. That is the horse we want to preserve and promote. Already there has been very valuable blood lost to this breed that can never be retrieved. Hopefully this list will help educate and encourage people to learn more before the rest of these 'old' bloodlines are gone forever.
Pictured...SUNDUST, a good example of old blood that is very rare and very little left without "modern" Saddlebred outcrosses.
