Description
Frog Pond Farm is an approved not-for-profit charitable organization recognized by the State of Ohio. We specialize in draft horse and pony breeds. We are located on 40 acres in Cambridge, OH and attend sales such as Sugarcreek, Mt Hope, Waynesburg and Mineral Wells. We also accept owner surrenders and county abuse/neglect cases. Most of our horses are meat pen pulls. We attend auctions, pull horses from killbuyer pens or outbid them during the auction.
A majority of the horses we bring in are Amish throw-aways due to starvation/untreated injuries/illness or breeder dumps due to non-conception problems. To them, they are nothing more than a piece of equipment. If they cant work or cost too much money to maintain, they are dumped for a "newer" model.
We will not tolerate flaming or spam. If you are found to be doing either you will be immediately banned. If you have an issue with someone on this board, please take it private as to not disrupt the flow of the board.
Our goal is to post horses needing sanctuary, rescue, placement or bail. I hope that by providing a link we can work together to save the needy draft horses and ponies in our area from the undue stress and torture associated with sale barns and transport to slaughter.
The picture to the right is of our personal rescued horse, Jack and my middle daughter Taylor. He was my horse but her 4H project which quickly became her horse as well. Jack was used for 4H, fun shows, trail riding and he could put a whoopin on the QHs at open shows in open walk/trot with Taylor. I was even approached by judges who would place her 3rd and immediately approach us with: "She should have won that class but the Quarter people would skin me alive". She was just thrilled with the 3rd out of 20+. Jack passed due to a freak field accident in November, 2006 and he may not be here physically but he is ALWAYS with is in spirit. Our barn is now known as the barn that Jack built. RIP my guy...I miss you!
