A discussion group for alternatives to the group exercises, particularly the Open stays with handlers out of the room in Canadian Kennel Club Obedience in Canada.

This issue has been debated before and keeps coming up because many handlers have serious concerns about not only the safety of the group exercises, but the amount of stress the exercise place on dogs and handlers alike.

The first step in removing or replacing the group exercises is to come up with alternatives to present to representatives in the CKC. We need to work as a group to contact representatives and ask for changes to be considered. This group is for those who would like to work toward this goal, and those who would support a change. Whether you have ideas to contribute, or are just supportive of the idea of change, please join in as there is a voice in numbers.
