It must be layer. She need the calcium lest she rob her bones to build
egg shells. Also low calcium can lead to prolapse and egg binding.
You also need to have a container of crushed oyster shell available at
all times - but these are only for adults NOT youngsters.
Well, it did go back in her on it's own. I don't think
anyone pecked at her & I did catch it right away. But since it
went back up on it's own & I wasn't able to wash I hope it will be
okay. I did put some Prep H up in her a little to rub. I have her
with the water right next to her. I guess time will tell if it's going
to be okay. thanks so much for the help. She is eating &
drinking I don't know how much to feed just one hen? if you are
feeding the grower stuff, although I got layer stuff now too.
Thanks

Yes, it was hanging out of her but when back
in, they get stuff in their water for the coccidiosis, so what should I
do? They just started laying & the eggs were really small &
just before all this, although I'm not sure she laid the egg but there
was a much bigger egg?
Thank You

It wasn't the watermelon. My bet is she has coccidiosis.
Treat her ASAP with corrid or albon - almost any vet can sell it to you
as will most good feed stores.
My only worry is the "membrane" which might be a prolapsed oviduct.
See if there is anything hanging out her vent.
