Wow - what an exciting event to participate in the S/N clinic on Sunday Oct 28, 2008. First of its kind on the East Side, independent of HIHS. More information and pictures coming in our October Punahele. Just a reminder for the following: October 11, at the Keaau Village Market Place we are have a regular yardsale, and need your household donations to make this successful. It pays for the spay/neuter surgery cost. This is your opportunity to give where it counts!!!
Oct 5, Wal-Mart from 8:30 - 2:00 PM, selling T-Shirts, and other items.
Oct 11, Yardsale, Keaau Village Market Place from 8:30-2:00 pm.
Oct 12, HPH membership meeting.
Remember this, doing hard times, we the people go through difficulties, but for the animals its even worse. The animals need us even more than ever. Monies tight, people are worried, and the cost and upkeep for the animals gets put off. That's why your help is so important, even to donate your recycle to HPH, means allot. Aloha frannie

Wednesday is October 1st. The deadline for submissions for the October newsletter is the regular membership meeting, in just 12 short days. And, so far, I have received NOTHING! Where are the September meeting highlights, some notes on Sandi's S/N clinic, comments on the fund raisers or the yard sales, poems, jokes, cartoons, photos of almost anything?
I'll be delighted to edit your stories, check the spelling, smooth out the rough edges, match them with graphics, give you the byline, provide fillers, but don't expect me to research and write every article – putting together the newsletter (two versions, one for the web and one for print) and maintaining the website are all I can manage. This is your organization – if you care about the animals, contribute! Making this a top-notch newsletter will give us credibility, build membership, and bring in advertising dollars – no way can I do it alone.
