HUMBAND is a private forum restricted solely to licensed banders (masters and subpermittees) who have the hummingbird-banding permit in hand. This provides humbanders with a private forum to discuss topics related to the unique venture of hummingbird banding. This would include, but not be limited to, capture techniques, recapture announcements (searching for initial bander!), migration notes, novel plumages, Hummingbird Research Group HumConferences, etc.

Please use descriptive subject headings -- and if applicable include the state or region and the species involved in the subject heading, such as: "Mississippi RTHU numbers decline" This will allow quick screening for busy members who may not be interested in RTHU in Mississippi...

The moderator intends to keep a very low profile as moderator -- please use courtesy and judgement in your posts, remembering that some of our group lead busy professional lives and find it cumbersome to deal with dozens of frivolous emails each day...

Again, this forum membership is entirely restricted to banders possessing a valid federal banding permit with specific HUMMINGBIRD authorization. In cases where a new subscriber's email or username is not recognized by the moderator, they should expect a return email from the moderator asking for confirmation of federal permit(s) before their subscription is approved.
