Could I get some help on an ID of this thrush?
The picture of the bird appears (at least to me) to be a Hermit thrush.
The throat area doesn't have any buffiness to it. It's just white with dark
brown/black spotting.
However, the VERY blue eggs in the nest suggest a Swainson's thrush.
I checked the nest pictures in "Peterson's Western Birds' Nests" and the
Swainson's eggs are a lot more blue than the Hermit thrush's.
Another factor is we were hearing Swainson's singing all over the place
in the woods where we were .....
Opinions, please!!!
