This is a list for breeders and others who care for the rare colors of the icelandic horse. Silver dapples Z, roans Rn, pintos To & splspl (tobiano and splash), duns D, horses having the cream gene Ccr (palominos, buckskins, smokeys, cremellos, perlinos etc) greys G and combinations of those genes. What can we do to keep those colors in the breed? Can we breed colored horses without lowering the other breeding goals? Do we want all icelandic horses to have "no color" and in the end be all chestnuts, bays and blacks ???
