A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to
get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from
his home and leaving him at the park. As he was
getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks
away. He put the beast out and headed home. Driving
back up his driveway, there was the cat!
He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat
would always beat him home. At last he decided to
drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past
the bridge, then right again and another right until
he reached what he
thought was a safe distance from his home and left the
cat there.
Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Susan, is
the cat there?"
"Yes", the wife answers, "why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man answered, "Put the sucker on the
phone, I'm lost and need directions!"

My cat sure wouldn't like the tub either. The only
thing they would like the tub for is to play in it.
They are always jumping into our bathtub to play. That
is when the tub is water free!

How fast do they send them to you? As to Revolution, my vet does not
even carry it and says they never will, something about it is too
strong like a time bomb...Shirley I did just get the Advantage from
my vet simply because it was easier to drive half a mile down the
road and since I got two packages of it there is a free vial as a
bonus. It is too expensive for words but at least now I only have two
cats.

On Thursday Feb 12 I brought Bernadette in to be
spayed. This pas Monday I looked at her stomach by her
incision and thought it looked a little swollen. I
checked it again on Tuesday but there was no
difference so I figured it was okay. Yesterday I got
home from work and her stomach was all swollen by the
incision. I called the vet and he had me run her there
before they closed. Well needless to say it has
somehow gotten infected. She is now on an antibiotic
and an anticiptic that I have to put on the incision
with a warm compress.
They said that this sometimes happens in females
because it is hard to keep the cats from being active
and licking the wound. They also put an E-collar on
her.
Well she was not a happy camper with the E-collar. She
couldn't eat or use the litter pan with it on. So I
have decided that when I am home I will keep the
e-collar off but when I am not I home I will keep it
on her. I felt so bad for the baby.
Has this ever happened to anyone elses female cat
after they have been spayed? I am just curious how
common it is. I have had a total of 4 females spayed
but this is the first one that this has happened to.
Prior to these females I always had male cats only.

Hi
We have a white Manx cat with gold eyes, named Daisy.
Daisy is
deaf, and is afraid of other animals.
Daisy needs your help! She is stuck in rescue. We
have had her for
two years now... and because she fears other cats and
dogs, we have
had to cage her here in our rescue.
We are a no kill rescue, and I hate seeing Daisy
pining away in a
cage for the rest of her life, so I am stumped as to
what I can do
for her. She "visits" our bathroom sometimes, for
relief from the
cage. In our bathroom, where there are no other cats
and no dogs,
she is a sweet little girl with a meek personality...
She is also a quiet and sweet little girl in her
cage...
But she desperately needs to get out of our rescue
into a home where
she will be with adult humans and no other animals.
At this point, I am willing to waive her adoption fee,
so I can get
her into a suitable home. Daisy is in central Ohio,
but I am also
willing to let someone from outside of our area come
and get Daisy,
if they have the right place for her.
Please help!

I will have to wait until Onyx is about 5 yrs to see what gives with
his spine, but I hope since he has a stubby tail of about 5 inches or
6 maybe, he will have a normally developed spinal column...Shirl p.s.
i haven't measured his stub.

Thanks and yes I too believe in the stern voice but I really did not
feel like going through this again..he does it whenever he sees
her..I have been telling him to behave and leave her alone and he
looks at me so it is sinking in now..last night she actually could go
into the diningroom under the table and he walked right past
her...p.s. she loves to play with the parrot and he does too. Ever
seen cats who play with the bird on the floor like hide and seek?
Parrot flies right down onto where each one is and asks for it. I try
to supervise but i have been telling them to not hurt the parrot and
telling birdie to not peck their tails either. Time will take care of
this i guess altho I have had cats who never liked each other and
never spoke to one another and took separte parts of the house.
unfortunately they are both dead now.Usually one cat just is jealous
of the other is how it starts.

When he bothers Peaches try saying no sternly and then
putting him in another room alone for a time out.
After this happening so many times he may get the
message and leave Peaches alone. Is Onyx constantly
bothering Peaches or is it at certain times of the
day? Does anything in particular bring on the
behavior? I am not one that believes in using the
spray bottle as dicipline so I would not tell you to
do that. I tend to say no to my cats in a stern voice
when they act up with another one of my cats and then
put them for a time out for about 5 mintues. I find
that this has been the most effective to break the
behavior.

Shirley how old is Onyx? Is he still a kitten. Overall
the two Manxs I have are pretty laid back for the
breed. Kirby who is now 11 used to be very active and
always into something but he has slowed down with age.
Angel is only 2 yet she is fairly calm. It might have
to do with his age. Manxs usually get along well with
other cats and dogs also. How long have you had him?
It may be that he is still trying to adjust to his new
home and your other cat.

Thanks! i would like to know what to do to get my Manx boy more
laid back and quiet. I understand this is not their nature. he is a
nice enough cat but he drives me crazy. I have to let him out to play
and then he wants in and out in and out for the first few hours and
it is too cold right now to leave the door open. Don't want a cat
door either.California is not that cold but I like a warm house in
the Winter so no doors standing open yet. Also he rushes up to our
other little Persian cat with the HCM heart problem and scares the
heck out of her and acts bullyish. She is so scared of him I have to
keep them separate and then alternate where they go in the house at
times. She has taken to our attached garage and it is fixed up for
her but it gets cold down there and I like her to feel she is not a
second citizen in our family. i took her to my bed this morning after
the goofball Onyx cat went out for the third time....he will be back
and then she will escape to some safer place. We really didn't ask
for Onyx, he just decided to live here and the owner kept him outside
all day and night and he did not like that at all. he scraped on our
patio door and bit my leg when i came out because he wanted in our
house and food. I finally had to talk his owner into my taking him
because it broke my heart...he is very nice and friendly and full of
love but also very
goofy........Shirley

Manx male cat last november from my neighbor. he is a stump tailed
cat. Hope to find some messages here about manx......Shirley
Kaopectate has been reformulated and is especially
dangerous for
cats. Kaopectate is sometimes recommended to treat
acute diarrhea. While retaining the same brand name,
the active ingredient is now a chemical that is toxic
to cats.
Kaopectate Reformulated
"Three recent reports were submitted to the USP
Medication Errors
Reporting Program regarding Pharmacia's (recently
acquired by Pfizer) over-the-counter product
Kaopectate=AE New & Improved. The new formulation
contains bismuth subsalicylate. The previous
formulation contained attapulgite as the active
ingredient, while even earlier formulations contained
kaolin and pectin (hence the brand name Kaopectate).
Each reformulation has retained the original trade
name.
Can anyone help this kitty.
This is a BIG SWEETIE! He is a great cat!! I would love to get him
into a rescue or some sort of no-kill shelter. If you can help in
any way, connect me or the New Castle,IN Animal Shelter(765)529-8131
