Hello-
A honey sales promotion event is in the planning stages for September. It
will involve the efforts of several groups in the marketing of honey for the
Jewish New Year in selected retail food outlets in upstate NY and NYC.
I am looking for medium scale honey producers who are interested in obtaining
Kosher Certification or who already have certification. Assistance with
obtaining Kosher certification for honey will be available.
Some basic requirements: honey must be pure New York State honey, market ready
for wholesale.
Media promotion will be provided.
This is a great opportunity to expand your business into a quality niche market.
Please contact me ASAP if you have any questions or interest in this sales
opportunity. Also, please pass this info on to any potential producers.
Thank you,
Pat Bono

house. its too high and too much work for me but i told the owners i would try
to find someone. along with being up high the atic space above has been seald
off and i told them that if they are moved in that far that a cut out might not
be possible. i did tell them that there is a cost for removal but did not give
any price range. they are trying to get the house painted and ready for sale.

I have a friend who was weeding her strawberry patch and came upon a nest of yellow jacket bee in the ground, she doesn't want to use poison because she will be eating the strawberries. Anybody have a good suggestion???
Thanks, Linda Walters
Boil a big pot of water and pour it down the hole in the late evening

The best way I’ve found to destroy a nest is to smother it. Fill a wheelbarrow with a big load of ice (like from a motel ice machine—its just the right size) and quickly dump it over the hole on a cool evening after the scouts have gone inside for the night. The cold will prevent their attacking you. Then cover the hole and the area around it with a heavy tarp weighted down with bricks, a piece of sheet metal, a big wooden board or other heavy object. Then cover that with soil or wood chips. Or cover the hole with a thick piece of clear plastic, seal the edges tight to the ground, and the nest will cook in the sun once the ice melts. Be sure and pick a cool night when these dangerous wasps will be unable to respond quickly—and ‘bee careful’!

We opened one of my hives today and found about 15 capped queen cells that will
probably hatch in the next few days. Does anybody need any queen cells? Not sure
what to do with them all. We took a couple of frames out with queen cells on it
and put them in a nuc box but we still have a bunch. Any suggestions?
Make the hole bigger and let the skunks clean them out. Skunks love to eat bees and hornets.

An advertisement for a new version of Adobe PhotoShop Elements (PhotoShop Lite) had this illustration as an example. They deleted the honey bees from the picture! Don't they know anything?!
