We would like to welcome the new members
to Monkey Tales.

If you would like to receive the Mindy's Memory
Primate Sanctuary newsletter that is sent out
quarterly, please send your mailing address to
Linda@...

This issue will introduce you to Dylan.

Dylan is a 7 year old Java Macaque, who arrived
on June 1, 2004. He shares his enclosure with 3
other Java Macaques - Lily, Harley and his brother
Junior who arrived about a week ago from Iowa.
After being separated for so long, they still
remembered one another and hugged and chased
each other. His favorite vegetable is sweet
potatoes and his favorite fruit is bananas. He
enjoys playing chase games and climbing. He
also enjoys playing with toys. He loves being
groomed by Lily and Junior.

If you would like to send a fruit donation
to the monkeys, please call 800-274-2677
and ask that a box of oranges, apples or
bananas be added to the weekly order
(every Monday) that Linda places. Payment
can be made directly, or you can make
arrangements with Linda at 405-387-4354
or Linda@... for payment to be
sent to Mindy's.

If you would like to send sunflower seeds to
the monkeys, visit http://www.nutsonline.com
or any online store you prefer. Linda usually
orders 5 lb bags.

The sanctuary could really use some volunteers.
If you live in the area or know someone who
would be interested, please call Linda at
405-387-4354. If she is not available, there
is an answering machine for you to leave a
message.

When you sponsor a monkey or make a $25.00
donation, you will receive a Flip Album on
CD. You will view monkeys playing, eating
and socializing. This is set to music.

All residents of the sanctuary are available
for sponsorship. For details visit the Mindy's
website.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

When shopping online, please check to see
if the store that you will be making your
purchases from is listed with
http://www.igive.com If it is and you choose
Mindy's as your charity of choice the sanctuary
will receive a portion of your purchase total
donated, at no cost to you. The amount
donated varies by store.

For your convenience, donations can be made
online through Paypal by visiting Mindy's website
http://www.mindysmem.org Click on "Meet Our
Monkeys" and for a one time donation you can click
on either "Make a Donation" or the monkeys
name near the top of the page. There are other
donation choices near the bottom of the page.
You can make a donation to the Building Fund
to help raise funds for housing future residents.
This fund was established after funds were not
raised quickly enough to rescue 2 research
monkeys, Ben and Norman, before they were
sold back into research. You can also donate
to the Mindy's General Fund.

If you know an animal lover and don't know what
to give as a gift, we have the solution. Send a
donation in their name and a card will be sent
letting them know that you have made the
donation.
