Hey all,
I'm a member of multiple dog-groups and a brilliant gal just started
one for the Bay Area folks who can't always afford to go the pet-

Hi Karla,
Most dog parks have a peak hour around 4:30-6 PM when the longer days come.
Weekends are popular to and peak times are in the afternoon. Rain or bad
weather, the
Superbowl all take their toll on dog owners. Maggie has a page here of other dog
parks on
the peninsula: <http://home.earthlink.net/~ejlmp/Maggie.html>. If you live in
Sunnyvale,
you should check out the dog park at Los Palmas Park:
~ejlmp/Sunnyvaledogrun.html>. Your malt poodle will like both parks everyday.
Dogs will
hypnotize you into changing your whole schedule so you can please them with
daily park
visits. Good luck.
Eric/San Mateo and the new park there open 8 months and 3 acres: <http://

Hi All,
I'm Ursula - close friends call me Urs. I frequent the MV Dog Park at
least 2x's a week w/my english staffy bull terrier - TWIZTID and my
overly obsessed border collie GUNNER. I'm sure many of you have had to
throw the ball once or twice for GUNNER as he follows anyone who has a
chuck it.

Its a bit of a hike for you, but I would recommend the new dog park,
Fontana, which is located in San Jose at the corner of McAbee & Golden
Oaks Way. This is just south of 85 and Alamaden Expressway. They have
a split big/small dog areas. Not as good as Watson, but a nice park
with free parking.
A larger small dog area (that just sounds strange), can be found at
the Milpitas dog park but parking is $4.

Hi Gilda,
Mountain View's dogpark has a separate section for small dogs. Take 101
north and get off at the Shoreline exit. Head east on Shoreline Blvd.
to Shoreline Park. It will be on your right just before the main
entrance.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [mvdogpark] Help with DogPark for small dog
Hi: I've got 2 cool dachshunds, and they love to run and play. One
of
my guys is recovering from hind leg paralysis -- he's walking and
running, but not 100% yet, AND he's a little skiddish around big dogs,
especially a pile of them. We've gone to the Los Palmas park in
sunnyvale, which is nice, but there's always so many big kidzz
frolicing around (not all the humans pay attention to their aggressive
kidzz), so I end up having to hold him. (My other guy thinks and acts
like he's big, and he doesn't have the same fears.).
Question: Does anyone know of a park for small dogs? and/or, any
suggestions on how I can help my frightened boy get better integrated
into the BigKidzz group?
Thanks much.

Hello all,
I'm new to the group and would just like to say "hi". Me and my "kid"
Solan (45lb mutt, border collie mix?) usually go to the Santa Clara
dog park. He LOVES all people/dogs all ages and sizes and would love
to find some new buddies outside the dog park as well. Most of the
time we'll walk/hike along the creek trail in Los Gatos. If there's
anyone out there who would like to join us sometime let us know!

Hi all,
I was wondering if there were any small dog social/meetup type things
at the MVdogpark. I have a toy fox terrier 4mth puppy and she's super
small, we'd like to start socializing her at the dog park however even
the small dogs are much bigger than her.
So i was hoping there may be somekind of social for
chihuahua/miniaturepinscher/italian greyhound/Toy Fox terriers/...
etc. Tiny dogs there. If not, is anyone interested in starting
something up?

San Mateo dog owners and the parks department are getting close to the
proposed April opening of the Seal Point Park dog run, Residents
started meetings in 1999, convinced the city council and defeated anti
-dog groups. The park will have big and small dog sections. There will
be a decomposed granite path through the park. Native grasses that need
no water will be in the center of the park and along the borders. There
will be shade rests along the path. For a photo taken 2/23/05 see:
<http://home.earthlink.net/~ejlmp/sanmateodp.html>. There will be
stairs and a path to the hill top for vistas of the SF Bay. Along the
path, there will be outdoor art displays. The park is along JH Clinton
Drive in San Mateo. Take 3rd St. Exit off 101 and go east. See you
there in April.

Have you been to the dog Park in Santa Clara?. It is 30 feet from the
school lawn. There has never been a problem that I know of.
Additionally they have organized soccer tournaments every weekend
with several teams, and they dogs are never a problem to them either.
Maybe you can use the Santa Clara Park as an example. My dog is 6,
and we have gone since she was one year old.

S.J. converts vacant lot into off-leash dog park
By Janice Rombeck
Mercury News
A vacant city parcel has become a new off-leash park where dogs can
romp and their owners can relax.
The 6,500-square-foot Ryland Dog Park was dedicated Saturday at North
San Pedro and Ryland streets. The $50,000 project was designed by San
Jose Parks, Recreational and Neighborhood Services staff and mostly
funded by Legacy Partners Residential, developers of a nearby housing
complex.
The unleashing area is filled with decomposed granite and surrounded
by a 4-foot-tall fence. There also is a picnic table, benches and a
water fountain for owners and dogs.
The Vendome Neighborhood Association worked with the city on the
project. It is the city's third park where dogs can run unleashed. A
two-acre dog park opened last year in Watson Park, adding to the 3/8-
acre Miyuki Dog Park in South San Jose. Santa Clara County also
provides an area at Hellyer Park.
Dogs are not allowed to be in other city parks without being leashed.

Hi everyone,
There is free seminar about foreign currency market at downtown San Francisco, CA. Please reply this email to reserve your seat.

Rachel
The Foreign Exchange Market
With international trade, the currency of one country must be exchanged for that of another for settlement of a transaction. Institutions and corporations in the international market place oftentimes need a certain currency to complete a deal, or to guard themselves from the effects of currency swings and rate changes. This system involving the exchange of different currencies has created the Foreign Exchange market, or FOREX, or FX., and more correctly known as the Global Interbank Currency Exchange Market.
Like stocks, gold and real estate investments, Foreign Exchange has become a very important tool for the investment community. Trading in FOREX provides certain additional advantages:
Margin System
You can enjoy the benefits of leverage on contracts up to one hundred times your margin deposit. That is, with 1% of the absolute value of contracts, you can enter the largest marketplace in the world. As long as you are able to maintain your margin requirements on the full contract value, you can remain indefinitely in the market.
Maximum Liquidity
Being the largest market in the world with over $1.6 Trillion bought and sold daily, huge volume of transactions are readily executed and cleared. Unlike futures or the stock market, there is never a lack of buyers or sellers. Therefore, it gives the investor the prerogative to open or close a position at will.
Attractive Pricing
Foreign Exchange quotes are based on spot prices regardless of the transaction size. Prices are quoted on a net basis.
Effective Execution
Orders are executed and confirmed online or manually via a recorded phone call. Customers know immediately the rate at which the order is executed. Confirmed orders will always receive a single price execution.
Flexible Settlement
Foreign Exchange contracts opened can be rolled over daily for an indefinite period subject to roll-over fees.
Hedging Tool:
Investors involved in international trade can minimize their currency exposure risks by trading in Forex.

There are so many of you I haven't seen or even heard from (except
through this list!) since I moved to Gilroy 2+ years ago...
As it happens, I've been fostering a very sweet n/m Akita for the past
few weeks, age 6-1/2, and I'm meeting with a potential adopter of this
dog on Monday morning (July 5th) at ~ 9:00am, at the MV Dog Park on
Shoreline. So if any of you would like to come by to play with my
two girls (Holly & Hana) plus this nice boy (Tomo), I'd love to see
you again!!!
Take care, and have a peaceful 4th of July, especially your
fur-babies!

Just to be sure, you are contacting the local animal shelter right? That is

Hello,
I found a dog at the Mountain View Dog park. He is about 25 lbs (looks like a
jack russell terrier mix). His head is brown. The rest of his body is white
with brown spots.
He was found wandering outside of the dog park yesterday. I am taking care of
him in the meantime.
If no one claims him, I plan on keeping him.
