WE ARE: A social group made up of dog owners who primarily live in Natomas and North Sacramento in Northern California. We helped the City of Sacramento design the Regency Park Dog Park (see www.natomasdog.org for details) and are providing input on several dog parks set to be built in Sacramento.

GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE: We welcome dog owner-neighbors from Natomas & surrounding areas, if you fill out the new member sheet and intend to participate from time to time. It is a good idea for a new member to show up to one event in the first three months of membership.

MEMBERS-ONLY EVENTS: Active members organize dog-friendly events when weather permits: 7/07 -- hike/potluck in Sierra foothills; 8/07 -- Elverta potluck/badminton; 9/07 -- Wheatland pumpkin farm/tractor ride; 10/07 -- Apple Hill happy hour; 06/08 -- Natomas nature walk.

GOALS: (A) Provide a means for members to organize dog-friendly outings and meet others with similar interests (B) Model humane and responsible dog ownership and calm-assertive dog park etiquette in our neighborhoods (C) Encourage well-designed large, medium and small off-leash amenities (D) Become stewards of pet-friendly parks and open spaces in the Sacramento area (E) Foster a pet-friendly atmosphere in our region.

RESTRICTIONS: Posts and membership are moderated by the owner at her sole discretion. Posts must relate to our goals. Posts CANNOT include inappropriate language or references. Unapproved commercial posts are not allowed.

SUBJECT TO REMOVAL: Inactive members (though you do not have to attend events to participate); those who act against the spirit of our goals; those who turn out to not be truly interested or who are unreasonable in their demands of the group; those who are not local; those who violate courtesy, rational discourse or our restrictions.
