Description

Natural Raw Dog (NRD) is committed to helping people learn how to feed their dog the most natural healthy diet possible, a Natural Raw Diet (NRD). This is the most species appropriate diet that you can provide your best friend. Dogs are sub-species as a wolf and should be fed accordingly. Scientists revisited the dogs initial classification, Canis Familiaris, and came to the conclusion that the dog is not different species. Since then the dog has finally been classified appropriately, Canis Lupus Familiaris, a direct decent of the wolf. A NRD consists of a variety of different kinds of prey animals. We need to provide raw meats, raw meaty bones, and organ meats and try to recreate a prey animal in our kitchen. Therefore, a NRD DOES NOT include supplements, grains, yeasts, dairy, vegetables (esp. below-ground ones) or the cooking of any food. Exceptions to cooked foods include training treats and those irresistible meaty table scraps we human’s like to share with our best friend. Supplementation is a last resort. Salmon Oil, for example, contains omega 3 which is not always present in an adequate amount and the diet may need to be supplemented with it in many cases. NRD does not advocate the use of supplementation as a replacement for feeding your dog properly. All vitamins and minerals can be found in natural food sources. These are the foods that are part of a properly prepared NRD. People that already feed this way are encouraged to join and share in their experience. Those whom are interested in this way of feeding are encouraged to join and ask questions. Topics of discussion are about, but not limited too: a NRD, vaccination and titers, feeding philosophy, alternative medicine, common diseases, and behavior issues. I do enjoy mixing it up and having a bit of fun. This is acceptable to a point. We are all hear to learn, share in our experiences, and learn some more, so let's go!
