Greetings Fellow Equine Lovers, Protectors, Rescuers & Advocates!
Have you heard the latest about the National Conference of State Legislators
(NCSL) and their pro-slaughter agenda?
Here are a few petitions to hopefully counter-act some of their workings since
they have "officially" come out for horse slaughter and in opposition of our
national anti-horse slaughter efforts....as you can see by the petitions below,
they are organizing through their state legislative processes on a
state-by-state basis to keep the slaughter going and to get horse slaughter
plants in their respective states.
We must meet them and oppose them at every turn!

Wild Horse Advocates Make BIG Noise against BLM Over Mass Extermination Plan
of 33,000 wild horses;
http://madcowhorses.blogspot.com/
You too can contribute to the BIG Noise we are making for the BLM by leaving
your comments with them on the "Comments" page of their website. They are
asking for it and are feeling our rage already!
Here is a link to the BLM on-line commentary form where they are asking for
public comment;
http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/wild_horse_and_burro/feedback.html
Also, Call the BLM and let them know by telephone; DO BOTH!
1 800- 710- 7597
Please also call SANDRA CHEREB, the Associated Press reporter who is
covering the story. She is not new to the issues. She can be reached through
the AP office number at 1-800-710-7597 Please do share your outrage with
her.
Please also contact your Congressional Representatives and Senators to
express the same,....and to ask for emergency Congressional Hearings to be
called in the matter of the BLMs mismanagment of our wild horses and their
plan for the immediate extermination of 33,000
of them. We need them to take action NOW!
Here is a link where you can find out who your representatives & senators
are, if you dont know, and I believe you can contact them from these links
also, but I may be wrong. Check and see;
Tell them to STOP the Wild Horse Killings NOW!
http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml
and find your State Senators here;
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm
Also I would like to remind you that Rep. Nick Rahall (D.WVa) has championed
the cause of the wild horses in the past. Here is a link where you can
contact him and ask for help for the horses; tell him to support emergency
congressional hearings to be held NOW!
Rep. Nick Rahall (D. WVa.)
http://www.rahall.house.gov/
Keep Up with the Latest Developments through the
American Herds Blog, where they even have a link to a streaming live video
where you can watch Mondays Meeting of the Wild Horse & Burro Advisory
Committee LIVE and listen as they give the death sentence to these 33,000
wild horses
http://www.americanherds.blogspot.com/
Also, I AM THINKING, why cant some of the Big-Whig Wild Horse Mother Orgs
and/ or the Humane Society or the Animal Welfare Institute or even Peta or
some other MILLION DOLLAR MOTHER ORG ....have one of their slew of lawyers
file an administrative appeal against the findings of the Government
Accountabilty Office's Report? This is the
report that gives the green light to the BLm to go ahead with their killing
plan. I dont think it would be to hard to prove the findings of the report
are arbitrary and caprious and that the determinations therein were rendered
as an abuse of their power & discretion. The
GAO's Report reported that the BLMs accounting methods are inadequate and
unreliable, so how can they base any "rational" or reasonable decision on
said admitted LACK of reliable information? Where are all
our big-whig animal rights / animal welfare / wild horse.org lawyers? There
are good grounds for appeal of the GAO Report and an appeal just might give
the 33,000 thousand American Wild Horses a temporary reprive from the death
sentence the BLm and the GAO have given them. I dont want to sound too much
like Ralph Nader bemoaning the death of democracy in America today, and
crying out for America to wake up, but I will repeat the question he put
forth to his constituants in a lecture he gave on a college campus last
fall; In the midst of all the "political chananigins," and "dirty dealings,"
against the American People ( and, of course, now, the horses) he asked,
"Where are all the lawyers?" And that is what I am asking today on behalf of
the horses. Surely there must be some legal goings on for them somewheres
filed by some one or org on their behalf? If not, it seems to me we should
be.
If you care about the lives of these horses, and the future of Americas Wild
Horses in general, please Call all these National News publications and let
them know whats going on with our nations wild horses and that America is
OUTRAGED at the notion of our government sending 33,000 of them off to
slaughter FOR NO GOOD OR VALID OR REAL REASON.
Tell the reporters that know its all about special interest, exploitation &
and greed and that the facts of the case will prove you out. If you are a
"newbie" to the plight of our wild horses and you arent quite sure what to
say to the reporters, you can lead them to other, more well informed wild
horse advocates or send them links at least. It will get some attention and
every little bit helps. .
The lives of 33,000 American Wild Horses and the whole future of our
American Wild Horses depends on us.
I urge you to take the time to make some calls to the following National

Greetings All;
I know I have said in my last post that I wouldnt not be posting to
groups anymore, but what I meant to say is that I will not be posting
in effort to unite the anti-slaughter folk as ONE UNIFIED BODY for
our National "Industry Accountability" Protest Demos and Campaigns.
Sadly, we have quit that endeavor for lack of interest, and wont be
troubling anyone in "groups" about that anymore.
However, if you dont mind I will be posting issues of URGENT matters
now and then as is requested by other "like-minded" groups & orgs.
There is an URGENT NEED right now to get the word out about the
crisis our American Wild Horses are facing. Here is the latest sad
news;
U.S. to Supply European Palate "A Taste of Texas" Wild Mustang
Steaks,.."Fresh off the Prairie."
Say it isnt so!
As you may or may not know, our government is getting ready to
senselessly & needlessly exterminate 33,000
wild horses they currently have penned up in holdng facilities
throughout the western states. We are looking to get some IMMEDIATE
MEDIA coverage on this as time is getting short for these horses.
The "Powers That Be (PTB) plan on following through with their Bush-
Backed "euthansia" plan before Bush leaves office. Remember, the pro-
slaughters and even the American Association of Equine Practicioners
(AAEP) belives slaughter IS "humane euthansia."... so we are
wondering, what is "the real" plan for disposal of these 33,000
horses? Remember, at slaughter-house prices, we are talking about
$165,000 worth of horse-flesh here! Do you REALLY think
the PTB will be ok with "burying" that?
We dont think so!
The time to act is NOW! We must make our voices heard and get this
story out. The only thing that will stop it is a call for
Congressional Hearings IMMEDIATELY!!
I called HBO today and learned that HBO Didnt know - didnt have a
clue as to the crisis the wild horses are in. They know now. We can
only hope they give it their e'MEDIAte attention! Call HBO and ask
them to please cover this story, and soon! Time is running our for
our wild ones!
HBO's Customer Affairs Dept #
is (212) 512 - 1208.
Click link to see what we have sent them;
http://tinyurl.com/6ma99r
I have also sent this blurb out to all the major North American Media-
Outlets, as follows; Lets hope some that at least some of them will
pick the story up; Can you think of any we missed?

Dear Members,
There is a well know scammer that is now trolling the horse groups
in Yahoo and has even been advertising their own horse group
recently, http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/KentuckyHorsePeople.
This person often uses aliases and will even post under her
husband's name, "John." Her name is Angela Ledcke. She also goes
by Angie Schubart, Christa Schubart, Daniel, Saddie Backenbush, and
many, many other aliases and IDs.
This person will con and fraud with many tactics, such as acting
helpless and needing advice, being depressed and/or suicidal,
wanting to talk on the phone (easier to cry and manipulate while
telling her sad stories and lies), and more!
She stormed through the work-at-home-mom's online community as a
self-proclaimed candle maker and played so many games with the
members that a site was put up in order for the onoine community to
keep up with her scams, aliases, and IDs.
For more information, you can read about Angela Ledcke at:
http://www.bustedscammers.com
Please be VERY cautious when dealing with her! She has, several
times, convinced individuals to ally with her and defend her - only
to ruin their reputations and businesses!
Sincerely,
Sissy
Hi and Happy Holidays to everyone and hugs to your
equine friends and family--I just joined yesterday and
am thrilled to be a part of the effort to bring an end
to this needless program, as we are all, I am sure the
clients of some vets somewhere who know us, know our
equines and don't need any more info from us. After
all, when we go to shows, all the information needed
is given out, besides in my state, IL, there is always
a vet who checks on each and every equine, there
simply isn't anything else to know! Well, I read
yest. that the prog. is on hold till the next admin.
in Wash., but vigilance is the price of freedom, so
let's keep vigilant and stamp out this unnecessary
program and boycott those businesses, i.e. in IL it's
Libertyville Saddle Shop, for one, if we can, to let
them know we mean buisness about our eqines! Happy
New Year and let's go get 'em! Sincerely, Michele Campbell

Good point. Especially since no one answered.

I think what spurred this sudden change in deadline is Nancy Pelosi's plan to
implement tons of legislation in the first 100 hours of Congress. See this:
http://action.downsizedc.org/wyc.php?cid=60
They could end up doing Goodlatte's bidding without even realizing it in
their rush to pass legislation. If no one has enough time to READ, stating that
input was already requested, may just spur them to vote without THINKING.

The rendering plants don't take what's left of them away for free
either... and I think the same toxic-waste surcharge is applied since
they also tend to be afflicted with a contagious/infectious disease
called GACoF-LODD (Governmnemt Agent Control Freak-Loonie Occupational
Disorder Disease).

I agree about the necessity for the Coast Guard, but having learned a
little bit about the way our 'late night' government works, is it not possible
that the USDA could sneak in the animal i.d.? Would not be the first time a
program got thru with little or no knowledge to 'we the people'. JMHO

Sure will make things confusing with 2 programs with the same initials.
I agree with Kim that the Coast Guard program IS necessary as that WILL go a
long way toward protecting our borders.

For a gelding, it could be depending on country of origin and diseases
present in that country. Stallions are usually in quarantine for 3 months - or
at
least it was 3 months the last time I was involved with one (5 years ago).

I have written to attorneys and anti-NAIS activists Judith McGeary and Karin
Berginer for an answer. Will let you all know what they say.
