Amazingly, I think animal rights advocates are
uneducated on a few things and selfish.<br>That is why I
have taken the time to join these clubs and offer
honest and complete answers on animal issues as they
regard to agriculture and especially dairy. I am not
looking to argue or offend anyone, just to have an
educated discussion. I'm hoping that maybe we can work
together to end the obvious cruelty and abuse and make
animals lives better.

Well, sorry it took so long to get back to you
but here goes.....<br>You seem very rightous about
the anti-fur and meat industry....great, you have
conviction which so few people have these days...<br>But I
believe your mis-aligned....<br>Lets discuss two areas,
the enviroment and humans.<br>Yes, there are aspects
of the meat industry that are harmful to the
enviroment and the human race.<br>But there are so many
other areas that do sooo much more damage that your
conviction would be better served to
champion....<br>Examples? sure....<br>Strip mining- destruction of land and
ecology by total destruction and runoff from the
spoils.<br>Mass transit- pollution and the death/injury of
peoples every day.<br>Off shore oil wells- see "strip
mining".<br><br>Get the idea? Yes, there are many ways that the meat
industry ruins the enviroment. <br>BUT, I challenge that
you driving in your car does so much more than the
average Dairy or Meat farmer could ever do!!<br>As for
"the future", doesnt the above examples of
eco-pollution make the meat industry pale in comparison?<br>By
the way, the examples of the meat industry, with mass
production and lousy conditions for the animals is not, from
what Ive seen, as prevalent as you would believe. I
have asked around here in my county and the
surrounding counties and cannot find even one example of the
type of operation you are describing.<br>MOST meat
production in my neck of the country is done the old fashion
way, which is to feed your animals on pasture land and
supplement them with hay in the winter.<br>So, anyway, that
is my two cents.<br>and also, I loved the mention of
my "little farm" in your post....how does 215 acres
sound?<br>:-)

intensive.<br>Mostly, I just raise wheat, corn and beans.<br><br>A little bit of
meat for the family but not much.

I found a company that sells household cleaners,
personal care and lots more. The products are chemical
free, non-toxic and natural. The best part is there is
NO animal testing. These products are safe for your
children, pets and the environment. If you would like more
informaiton on where to buy, send me an email. ~Heather~

Now, I know this is way off the club topic,
however there are lots of natural cleaners that don't
require anything more than things you already buy for
food. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to share.
Otherwise, I will not mention it again.

Never mind animal testing what about the 1000s
and 1000s of sheep, pigs, cows, and some wildlife
that is being slaughted and burned in huge piles in
England at the moment. 10000s of animals have needlessly
been killed. One animal in a herd got Foot and mouth
and they murder them all and anything else that has
got in contrct with them. they would recover from
foot and Mouth within a couple of weeks but farmers
choose to have them slaughterd for government
conpensation. the animals would lose weight and the old and
young might die of it... but while the animals are not
eating and losing weight there costing the farmer money.
Foot and mouth is extremly contagous but the animals
would recover and no matter how many thousands of
animals they murder and use diggers to pile the bodies
into huge piles to burn they cant stop it spreading.
IT ISNT WORKING.. its still spreading. OH DID I
MENTION THERE IS A VACCINE FOR THIS DISEASE!!!!!!!<br>do
we slaugter HUMANS every time there is an outbreak
of flu??<br>FOOTNOTE: how come foot and mouth can
carry 60km in the wind and genetically modified pollen
can only travel 600m????

Hoof and Mouth disease is reacted to in this way
because it is so dangerous. Thousands of people have died
needlessly of cantagious diseases because we didn't react
fast enough and completely in the past. Those farmers
are not happily losing their animals for gov't
compensation. They have no choice for human mealth
reasons.<br>The last question about pollen vs. a virus is just
silly. Ready...the pollen is much larger and heavier. No
comparison could be logically made between the two in range
or danger.

How far is too far for a PETA member? I feel very
strongly about the treatment of animals and I do alot to
show that.I got verbally attacked in a messageboard
the other night about meat eating.I know the
facts, but its hard to argue with such ignorant trash. But I
was just wondering how far you guys have gone to let
people know about the treatment of animals? And what are
the most affective ways to get your point across?

I tend to ignore the taunts and baiting of the
other side and try to stay with rational debate and
accurate information. This doesn't always work and what I
find most frustrating is the fact that after spending
time setting up the information to prove them wrong
they just move to another bit of false information. To
some the issue and the debate are more important than
truth or solutions.

Am I wrong to think and believe that I would
rather have some of those ignorant humans killed off
than the animals? I just get really frusterated with
them, and how they can know the facts and see the facts
*Meet your Meat* and still laugh and taunt.Just angers
me beyond belief and I want to scream and put them
through a slaughterhouse.Ive been called a nazi for what
I believe, saying that animals have more of a right
than we do,at least they appreciate the world God has
given us.Humans on the other hand destroy, kill, multiply
rapidly, are selfish greedy.I know in saying this,I am saying
that Gods creations (humans) are a waste, but its not
too far from the truth. We are slowly killing
ourselves into nothing...and the animals will have the last
laugh. Also,a lot of people laugh at PETA members, calling us
extremists and anarchists....well who isnt? In anything that
someone believes so strongly their are extremists.I am
proud to be one.<br><br>"MADCOW is coming, run for the

I think it is important in this issue to remember
that there are two sides...Humans are one of the few
species to worry about whether another species is being
treated properly, so we do have some redeeming
qualities.<br>If you want to be respected for your views and
opinions, the easy way is to only talk to people that
agree. I try to discuss this issue with people that
don't agree and to respect their opinions as being
human like mine.

Living in Britain, it it quite hard to miss the
facts of foot and mouth - the tens of thousands of
animals being slaughtered needlessly, etc to prevent the
spread of more viruses from them breathing the disease
patiacles (ahem).<br>The fact is, that there are no options
to mass slaughter apart from a vaccine that has
little chance of working.<br>And even if the vaccine is
given to every animal infected, this will only endanger
other countries in the world by transporting new
strains, and adapted foot and mouth diseases, with the
animals.<br>And anyway - a vaccination program would cost
millions most likely, which few politicians would be
willing to pay, as well as farmers subsidies for cattle
loss.<br>The vaccination is deemed even more less effective
due to effects after the jag is given - the animal
will suffer for the rest of it's life a high
proportion of the time.<br>I am afraid, that this could (if
not already) become even worse than the 60's outbreak
- and develop many needless slaughters.<br>Just
hope the virus doesn't spread from us and France, eh!

Maybe in your own little world murder has a
different meaning?? Either that or Burger King is
intentionally killing human beings?? Let's not let the rhetoric
get ahead of ourselves. The term murder is a specific
term....you must mean slaughter king.

PETA knows exactly what they are doing by calling
it that. The idea is to make people relate the
slaughter of animals to the murder of people. The whole "A
pig is a dog is a rat is a boy" BS. The problem is
that they go over the top, always, in their silly
promos to get donations and publicity. I think PETA
could do so much more to help animals with the $14
million they waste each year on these silly publicity
stunts.<br>I myself will no longer eat at McDonalds because
they buckled to the terrorism and Burger King could be
next.

Congrats.....you did exactly what PETA wants you
to do and that is to stop eating meat at McD's.<br>I
myself prefer Burger king because they use flame
broiling.<br>But even better than that, I prefer to cook my own.
That way, I am assured of the quality of the beef and
the preparation.
