Hi everyone - as most of you know, our group mainly takes in dogs who have no time left and who are in rural Ohio pounds.  Since I cannot say the word "no" (who can, in rescue?) we have pulled quite a few dogs recently who we needed to place in boarding situations.  The below pictured girls are in boarding.  They have been spayed, are all up to date on routine shots and are current on heartworm preventive.  I am looking for forever homes for them (or foster homes in Central Ohio).  They are all eager to learn and have spent way too much time in boarding.  They are getting some training and attention but not enough.  (Their current "normal" training needs make them hard to place in the majority of forever homes. I will also consider sending any of them to another rescue as long as they go to a foster home.

I have several other dogs on our Petfinder site that are in the same boarding predicament - Molson (yellow lab mix, age 3) and Teddy (chow mix, age 1).  There are no glaring issues with any of these dogs (OH---Teddy and Molson will probably not do well with cats) except the need for training in a home setting to make them "adoptable".

I'd greatly appreciate the cross-posting of these dogs.  I'd like to get them out of boarding.  It is not ideal for them, or for us, for that matter.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!

Lynne

Sasha is a Norwegian elkhound, probably a mix, who is about 10 months old. Her owner found her to be too active for her lifestyle and brought her to the Licking county shelter.  She is a fairly high energy girl who will need a yard and lots of exercise. UPDATE: Sasha has been doing really well at Mingle with the Mutts. She is very sweet and social, gets along well with other dogs and loves the attention from every person who comes to pet her. She is a little unsure of herself but we are hoping to move her to a foster home soon and help her to build her confidence. Sasha is still in boarding and is NOT housebroken.  She is spayed, up-to-date with all shots and is current on her heartworm preventive.

“Gidget”, female, ~1 yr. German shepherd mix, with what we're not sure. Gidget was found in Heath OH in 10/06. She is spayed and fully vaccinated. She is very people friendly and only about 45 lbs. She is full grown, but is very young. Gidget is very high energy but is willing to learn and would love to have a family of her own!  Gidget is most likely not housebroken and is still in boarding.

Raleigh is an adorable 60 lb. Rottie mix young doggie. She was rescued from the Putnam County dog pound just in the nick of time.   One of the volunteers contacted us about Raleigh and we agree, she is one special girl! Raleigh is friendly with everyone and loves other dogs. However, she is still in need of training.  She is at a boarding kennel that works with the dogs and she is very very receptive to attention and training.  Raleigh is under a year and is still in the "hand-nipping" stage but is getting MUCH better.  She recently spent a few days with one of our volunteers who feels Raleigh will really benefit from some training and is eager to learn.  Everyone who has met her says she is very sweet, & eager to learn and please.   Raleigh is most likely not housebroken.  She is spayed, up to date on shots and current on heartworm preventive.
