Hello,
I have been involved in parrot rescue individually for eight years.I take in
old, disabled, injured, mistreated, feather picked, etc. So far, I am just an
individual, and I have been giving birds a home for life. But, I would like to
rehabilitate birds and rehome them, if possible.
Here's an example:
I adopted a chronic feather picker Timheh African Grey that became so after his
elderly owner died. They were together a long time. I tried everything, and
found out that cardboard boxes satisfied the chewing urge. Then, he fell in love
with my hubby, and have several happy years until he died last year. He was
beautifully fully feathered when he died.
I am a middle aged Christian lady with a lot of time and patience and love. I do
not have professional training, but I am well-read in parrot psychology, and
have many years experience in pet owning and loving. I just thought I would
network with others in OKC with the same interests.
I often blog about my resued birds:
