Brown color in St. Croix reflect Blackbellie Barbado in my mind. Blackbellie are different genetically. True Blackbellie rams are extremely intelligent., have a different demeanor, move differently, aren't as potent for breeding as St. Croix rams under heat studies in the Virgin Islands.
I believe one brown spot, the size of a quarter is permitted in the St. Croix breed standard, unless they changed it, I had one generated St. Crook ewe who thru this brown spot, usually on the neck, she was and all her offspring some if not the best ewelambs and then onto ewes I have had over the years. I culled the rams with this spot, but they were excellent also.
