May 28 - What a great day for pugs in Ottawa.
Over 100 came out to enjoy the 6th Spring edition of the Ottawa
PugNic.
Big pugs and little pugs, fawn pugs and black pugs...and pugs of each
colour going elegantly grey.
We sold all 20 of the blue BARK bracelets we had, raising $80 for the
Bytown Association of Rescued Kanines, and a further $98 was donated
for Friends of Abandonned Pets, a toonie at a time.
Thank you! The funds will be delivered to the organizations before
Wednesday.
Prize Winners...
Pug Race : 1st - Reggie
2nd - Kalkin
3rd - Pearl
Thanks to Ann Moreside for organizing the race and making the wooden
bone necklaces for the winners.
Travelling Pug: from Carleton Place
Oldest Pug: Wilhimena - 9 1/2
Chocho - 12
and late arrival - Hunter - who will be 16 in October.
Pug of Distinction: Kalkin - for a variety of reasons,
including the fact that he placed in the Pug Race (despite having
only one eye, lost during an encounter with a rabbit in
October)...and because it was his birthday.
:)
Photographer Cedric was on hand once again and we will see his
marvellous work soon. The link will be posted soon.
Laurie of CBC Radio brought her family and 14 month old pug Henry -
along with her portable recording equipment. We don't know if or when
she'll have a feature on the PugNic. Stay tuned.
:)
Thanks to Genevieve for once again bringing the free samples of
Wellness food and for donating the larger prizes.
Welcome to all the first-timers, the new puggies and the new human
brothers and sisters some of the puggies have this year.
Again, no bad news to report.
Yay!
No injuries, no escapes, no fights.
Pugs certainly know how to get along well with each other.
Tiberius is flaked out now, sleeping like a log.
We trust your puggies are doing the same.
:)
