Adoptable virtual penguin   Message List

Hi!

While surfing the internet for penguin sites, I stumbled on a few
sites that advertise with "adopt a virtual penguin".
Now what is that all about???
Has any one tried this???

I know you can "adopt" a penguin in some zoos or national parks, or
rather, support a penguin financially. I like that idea quite a bit,
though I know the penguin will never really be mine, sniff.

So I thougt the idea of a virtual penguin would be nice since he/she
would be mine all alone. I understand that you need to write to
different people to get a virtual penguin, but what then? Is it just
an animation for your homepage, or does it work like the Japanese
little computer-animals, that you need to feed, play with etc. And
instead of a mini-computer the penguin just lives in cyberspace?

I like the last idea quite a bit. If any one know anything about
virtual penguins and how to adopt them, please let me know ;)

Thanks so much in advance,

Pernille :)
