Re: [Penguins paradise] Ever been to Australia and seen the penguins?

Hi Caroline!

I know there's penguins in South Africa too, and it is definately my
plan to visit them some day. These trips are just a bit expensive for
me (I live in Europe), so it's some thing I need to save up for.
Have you yourself been in South Africa and seen the penguins there?
I had a little peek on your yahoo ID and noticed that you're
interested in expats, couldn't help wondering if you actually are
from South Africa?

Thank you VERY much for both links, after reading more about Phillip
Island I have another "must see/do" thing to do while in Australia.
Your help is really appreciated, it's so nice to come here and get
all these advices and suggestions from fellow penguin-fans.

I'm still not 100% if I'm going, but I have started saving up and
taken two weeks off in October/November. Am just waiting for that
good flight ticket offer... ;)
And when/if I go, I'll send an email here to let you know how I'm
doing and, more importantly, all about my penguin-encounters! I'm so
excited about this, have dreamt of going for ages, and now it
actually may happen for real.

When in Southamerica I saw penguins in Peru (1994, Islas Baleares).
We couldn't get real close, but it was still a huge experience. I
dream of visitting all four continents with penguins - Australia,
Africa and Antarctica are next - as soon as I have the money and the
time :)

More info or just suggestions on what to do and see in Australia
would be appreciated. I know it's possible to go and see penguins in
New Zealand too. Has any one tried that?

Pernille :)
