Vicious-dog study
under way

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati city manager Milton Dohoney
says he needs more data on incidents involving vicious dogs before coming up
with recommendations for changes in laws.
Members of council's Law and Public Safety Committee in
November asked that dog laws be reviewed. Dohoney said in a memo dated Monday
that the administration will spend the summer collecting better information on
incidents involving aggressive animals.
Police will use new forms for dog incidents and keep them in
folders to trigger follow-ups and track repeat complaints, as well as designate
an officer in each district to be the vicious-dog expert. Dohoney expects the
analysis and recommendations will be finished in the fall.
