Welcome to the polled Shetland sheep list. This list is for everyone interested in sheep horn genetics (horned/scurred/polled), with an emphasis on Shetland sheep. Share knowledge and breeding results, compare notes, sell/trade polled/ scurred stock, post photos, trace bloodlines, ask questions, and learn all we can about sheep horn genetics. We hope to identify and establish polled Shetland ram and ewe lines within allowable North American Shetland Sheep Association rules and regulations, without any preference to color or fleece type.
Please note that this list has no agenda against horned shetlands. Our opinion is that the poll shetland deserves a future in North America, alongside the horned shetland. Neither the shetland registry, nor the breed Standard discriminates against polled or scurred rams!
