What is up with these "bad points" being issued by the wpcsa? Just because we might be late renewing our membership or some other simple reason we would get "bad points"?!! This is utterly silly (to use a nice word) to say the least. It makes us sound like we have broken rules, regulations, or incurred fines, it implies that we have done something wrong and are being punished. I also wonder if our board of directors will be getting bad points or if they will conveniently never get them? Hmmmm.
When I see this I automatically think the worst, as that is what BAD POINTS should be for, someone who has broken the society rules or failed to pay fines, it should be a punishment. NOT for something as simple as failure to renew your membership or some other simple business reason. And what happens when you get a lot of these supposed bad
points due to late memberships, or failure to get a registration in when they think you should or some other stupid reason? Do they kick you out of the society, or just make you look bad due to having so many pointless bad points?
Nothing like the wpcsa treating us like we were children. Come on!! Save it for people who really deserve such a thing as bad points!! Yes, I'm a little angry over this, it makes us look bad, and yet I don't even know if I have any bad points, and I'm still angry.
Now I think we should all call the society to see how many bad points we have and for what. Maybe this will make the wpcsa remove them especially for people who don't deserve them, when they get flooded with calls about these "bad points".
This almost makes me feel punished JUST for being a member of the wpcsa. Because that is how outsiders will view these "bad points". They will not call the
society to ask what the bad points are for, but it will deter people from doing business with us.
I want to see this "bad points" removed or used only for serious infractions, and I urge anyone else that feels the same as I do to call the wpcsa and tell them so.

I have been cruising the Internet this last week and noticed a LOT of pony websites are gone. I am guessing it is due to Geocities closing down as a host. If anyone is interested in me rebuilding their site with another host please contact me. I have very reasonable prices and am very familiar with ponies/horses and web building.
Prices:
Web Site ChargesNovember 1, 2009
The charge will be $400.00 for 5 pages up to 10 hours of work on them. $40.00 per additional page with 2 hours allowed on each page. Extra hours $20.00 per hour. Most sites are easily built within the 10 hour range.
The cost of the domain name registration and the web site hosting will be over and above this charge. Right now the cost is about $100.00 for both.
The following year the charge is $75 to maintain your site with updates plus the charge for renewing your hosting and domain name. Anything over 40 hours for the year would run $30 per hour extra.
DE state had commented that there is not enough interest from equestrians for continuing to have trails open for horse activities. They are planning to close some state trails and making them biker/hiker access only. This survey has been out for awhile and only 7% of registered horse owners had completed it by the summer. DEC placed it on their website and we are up to 31%. The state feels that if they don't get over 50% participation from horse owners then they will start converting the trails we use now to non-horse use. I have enclosed the link to the surveysite.
When you get to this page it is in the upper left corner. It only takes about 6 minutes to do. Please send this out to all horse owners to fill out. We want more trails not no trails. This survey has not been well publicized and only thru the DEC did I find out about it. Of course the state would of considered more horse trails if we were over the 50% mark early in the survey. Now we'll be lucky to keep the ones we have. It does ask for a zip code at the end. I think it has to be a Delaware one to count. This survey has been extended for another week. Please fill it out now. Thanks
Hi all,
A friend of mine has a very nice section A colt for sale, sired by my stallion
Scarborough Tigger, out of The Promise Firefly. The Promise Firestone is a2009
colt, chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail, with a nice amount of chrome. He has
lovely movement and a gorgeous head and neck. If I didn't already have his sire,
I'd buy this colt in a heartbeat for a future stallion! Firestone would make a
super show pony - he'd probably excel in driving like his sire - and would make
a great herd sire as well. He is located in east Texas, and is priced at $1000.
Payments are accepted. Please feel free to email me with questions or for more
pictures, or to be put in contact with his owner.Below is a slideshow of
pictures that were taken today. Also attached is a picture of his sire.

Scarborough Welsh Ponies and Cobs

We are downsizing and moving from Texas to Colorado and are selling off much of
our horse and pony herd. I have two Sec. A welsh ponies both registered for
sale. Both have excellent temperaments and will make wonderful ponies for
children.
One is 4 years old and started under saddle. She is flashy and loves people.
My 8 year old son just started riding her in a bridle and she is coming along
very nicely!
The other one is 11 years old and my 8 year old son rides her. He is a cautious
rider, so rides her at a walk by himself now. He just asked her to trot the
other day and the pony took care of him.
WE never thought we would sell these ponies and they are like family. If anyone
is interested please contact me privately at gaitsforglory@... for
pictures and more information. I know that the market for selling horses is not
that great, so I am looking for the best offer. I paid a lot of money for these
two and am most interested in finding them a good loving home at this time. They
have been worth every penny I paid.
By the way, my son will still have a horse to ride. Three are just too many.
Thanks,
Pamela

Monday evening after 5PM, I got a phone call from the USDA-SC office requesting that I answer some questions about the agricultural uses of our property. With regard to crops, I answered that we had timber and allowed a neighbor to make hay on our grass fields when and if he chose to do so. When she asked me about animals, I told her I had been in touch with Congressman Wilson's office because I was concerned that NAIS violated my privacy and from my Congressman I learned that there is no law which requires me to answer the questions and therefore I refuse to answer. She actually told me I was right. This survey was voluntary. However she warned some are mandatory.
I recommend everyone call their Congressman and ask some questions. We as a group can stop any legislation that the new Congress tries to write before they get started on it, but we have to do it now and we have to do it! Complaining and worrying accomplishes nothing. Do it today. Get you House Representative's phone number. Call and ask for the staff member that deals with Agricultural issues and explain your position. Don't be surprised if no one in the office knows what you are talking about. You can educate them. You also can ask the receptionist that answers, for the email address of the staff member you need. I started with email, because I wanted a written record in the file. Elections are coming...................

For my city friends, please take a look at http://www.libertyark.net/ for more info on this flagrant abuse of power by the USDA.
Beau goes English or Western, does showmanship, and is started in harness. It
takes a crop to get him to trot or canter but he has a lively trot when moving.
He's great over little cross rails and will canter a course with an experienced
rider.
We think Beau would be a great Western gaming pony because he patterns super
well and likes to just stand around, but he does go when you ask him to.
Beau is only 6 so he's still green, and his price reflects that. $1500obo. We
will consider a trial period for the perfect home with references. Owner must
sell.
Photos and video available on his page:

I don't know but that would scare the crap out of me,too. Maybe take a full sheet of plywood and paint it with a sign facing their way letting them know that if a horse has so much as a scratch, you will pursue police action? Put a large fake camera that way next to it?
We have a obnoxious neighbor who bought this land just to hunt it for ducks. He rents it and almost never shows up and ht en he'll start shooting near residences at dawn, and scare the crap out of us. He also had the nerve when we were taking out a 30' TALL wall of blackberries on eh property line that our place was junky, we couldn;t make it look like that and called us nasty names. What he didn't even know if I'd been pulling diseased Filberts that law states must be burnt off the neglected property line (neglected since before either of us moved here, we've worked for 2 years and just got it so we could fence it!) that were partly HIS responsibility and I had a stock of lovely maples with gorgeous fall colors to replace them with. He was upset because he drove past us with his hunting buddies and our construct on/destruction didn't look good. The wall of blackberries swallowing scrub trees did? UGH. You have my sympathies.

Sorry for the cross post, but I wanted to reach everyone that might have good ideas.
We have a slight problem arising. We hunt our land and everyone knows the rules, "no shooting in the direction of the herd". They also know that the herd can and will split up, to be aware of where they are before shooting. This goes for bow and gun seasons.
BUT what do we do when the guy behind up gives permission to 7 or 8 people to hunt his land during gun season up to our fenceline? How do we police the backside of our property to make sure that no pony or horse gets shot by some stupid idiot?
I've never met this guy, and I know the first step is to go have a face to face with him. But he sounds like an ass who doesn't care and is leasing out his land to hunters.
So what do I do to protect our stock and keep them OFF my land, I don't even want them coming on to retrieve a deer!! How do I stop it?
