Hi Katrin,
The 'petstore' rats are sweet, dont get me wrong, but I can REALLY tell a
difference in personality and such with Moonlight....being handled from birth
really does make a huge difference (obviously). I highly recommend buying from
a rescue or breeder that handles their ratties daily....
Thanks,
Kristen

Hi Kristin,
Wow, you really did your research.
Moonlight sounds really interesting and adorable.
Mine have come all from a non breeding background, i would like to have some
from a rescue or a breeder as well. The way you described it, they must be very
different.
Kind regards
Katrin

Let's see......
We came to love rats by owning just about every other small and furry
creature known to man. We wanted something that was social and would
interact with our kids. Hamsters are just kinda blah (but cuddly at
times)...ferrets are too mischievous, chinchillas didnt want to be held,
guinea pigs didnt have much personality. ....
So, I started some research on rats and found this group and a couple of
internet forums. We searched and searched for a breeder, but couldnt find
any. Our first two rats came from petsmart. One is wonderful, the second -
not so much. She's timid and I've worked with her - she's not coming
around.
Today, we just got our third rat, Moonlight. We have been waiting for her
from the rescue lady since she was born. She's a platinum and white red
eyed girl - and OMG she is the sweetest thing ever. WHAT a difference
between crummy petstores and a loving, caring rescue organization. .....she' s
socialized, sweet, curious....loves to snuggle. I'm in love........ Cant
wait to get more!
My oldest two boys are in AL visiting grandparents, they're due back in a
week. They will be so happy to see Moonlight and snuggle with her - I cant
wait!
