As you know I've had my girl Izzy for about 12 days now. She has been
bright-eyed and happy. After I started reading about the Myco, of course I
heard an "occasional" sneeze a few days ago I noticed some raspy breathing that
seemed to subside completely shortly after I noticed it. Today she has raspy
breathing, and is breathing rather rapidly. I'm very worried. I should have
taken the advice and been searching for a rat-vet, but I've not found one yet.
Is there anything I can do NOW while I hunt for a vet? Any suggestions, please,
I feel terrible!

Fish store Amoxicillin can have other fillers or dyes that can be lethal to rats.   Do tons of research before using that option.   Samantha ...

I agree. I would stick to getting medications from veterinarians after the rat has been seen by the vet, so that the appropriate care can be given. If you...

What's everyone's take on bird amoxicillin, specifically Bird-Biotic? I have used it quite often without problems (such as when a group of 90 newly arrived...

I'm so glad that SOMEONE else knows this! Every time I try to tell people that antibiotics in pet stores are NOT good enough for our rats, they just don't...

I don't recommend fish amoxi either, but how do you convince people of this when two well known rat experts promote it, Debbie D. and RMCA? Sandra Beasley and...

My personal opinion is that if it doesn't come from a vet who has examined the animal, then it's not safe. Without a vet, how can you know which drug is the...
