I love the little tree frogs we have here, small guys and they make cute noises.
The National Geogaphic article was sad, frogs dying of fungal infections. It's
in the sierras so it could reach my area, i live south of yosemite in
California. I leave water out for the frogs because it's so dry here, it
attracts them. I have gotten to know them personally as a result, watching them
turn from tads to adults, they have a lot of personality. I used to have one
that would come to my kitchen window at night, one that lived/croaked in the
roof vent, two that lived under the doorstep, unfortunately even small birds
like towhees and titmice, jays, eat treefrogs so i lost about 98% to birds,
raccoons, snakes, lizards, thats why they need people to be kind. Leaving water
out for them helps them find places to live. Creating places for them to hide
helps too. I created some hiding places by laying wood pallets down over the
ditches where they breed, so they can hide and get shade.

i just saw the 'frog info' posts and it sounds like someone who really
loves frogs. if you'd like to know about more forums i think there are more
frog forums over at centralpets. com and www.talkingfrogs. com
i haven't visited those for a long time but you might enjoy those too. This
group doesn't post much but has a lot of good frog link resources to learn
about frogs.
Did you see the National Geographic article about frogs? there was also a TV.
documentary about them. I have pacific chorus frogs at my house, they just made
scads of tads this March & April, i sure hope the frog fungus thats killing them
doesn't get mine.
Though i don't want to paint my place green, i have a lot of frog
collectibles so i guess that makes it green. i hope you have frogs near where
you live since you clearly enjoy them, frogs need friends.
