Hi everyone,
(Sorry if you get this twice--I sent to the yahoo group and to an
individual list I had).
I've been setting up some website tools for Michelle to try out. If
you're interested, these would let any of you contribute content, once
granted an account on each of these sites. If you don't know who I am
and are dubious, feel free to check with Michelle
(tannermarley@...); I got her OK before sending this out.

This is a wiki, which is a webpage you can edit just by clicking 'edit'
(and undo the changes just as easily). If you've ever seen Wikipedia,
you've seen a wiki in action. I've currently got it set up so it can
only be edited if you've been given an account. If you'd like to try it
out, reply to this email and I'll set you up an account (let me know
what username you'd like). There's a 'Help' link for more info
(including a Sandbox for trying things out), and I can answer any
questions you might have.

This is a drupal, which is a bunch of website tools. It lets you post
events, news articles, stories, polls, etc.; participate in forums,
blog, etc. Here, you can set up your own account, but it will have very
limited privileges unless I set up your account to edit. In the 'User
login' box there's an option to create a new account; follow the
instructions to set it up and log in, then email me to grant you extra
edit privileges.
Part of the drupal is a gallery program. I'm pretty sure once you create
a drupal account, sometime after that it will sync up with the gallery
and you'll be able to upload pictures to it. I can help make sure that
part is working, too. Once you have pictures in there you can easily
link to them using either the drupal or the wiki.
Again, these sites are experimental; we may keep or remove either or
both at some point. We're just trying them out to see if people like
them and if they're useful.
Maybe sometime we could have an IGs (and Whippets :) meetup and I could
demonstrate some of the features. I have a lot of time off coming up in
December and would be happy to help anyone who's interested.
Otherwise, feel free to experiment, add pages, etc. Try not to wipe out
content on the existing pages though. Adding is fine. :)
