The invitation is below (many thanks to our intrepid leader
for the grown up Abby pic). Below that is the invitation text, in case

Hi Corgis,
To officially answer the question, YES, Corgi playtime is coming up
this Saturday at 1:00! I hope it won't be raining, but I'm sure it
will be muddy, so have your human wear old clothes. We meet at the
Mountain Lake Park dog play area at 8th Avenue and Lake St.
Thanks Abby and Kitleigh for the information about the Chihuahua Cha-
cha. I'll make sure to tell my friend Pibs about it.
Hope to see you all this weekend!

This is off-topic, so apologies, but a
fellow hiker at the FortFunston walk that I go to mentioned a Chihuahua play group and I thought
I would send the information along to the shy little Chihuahua that comes to the Corgi Meetup.
The group is hosted by a chi named Bullet Love and info can be found
here: www.ChihuahuaChaCha.com
Now, why did I get this information in the
first place? Well, I’m always on the lookout for small dog play
groups for my babe. So, if anyone else has info to share, I hope you’ll
send it our way.
I’ll let Tryst confirm the meeting,
but I do have it on my calendar. Do want to let Tryst know, though, that Abby
will be a little late as we’re doing a volunteer training at Oakland SPCA
until 1:30-ish (but it’s a pro forma thing, so we’ll try to escape
early).
Looking forward to seeing all the shorties
on Sunday!
i just wanted to confirm that this saturday april 8th is the next meeting time, 2nd saturday of the month, right? thanks.

Hi Corgis!
What a fun meeting we had this month, with great weather and the best turnout ever! My human posted the pictures to her Flickr account. Wow, we look cute! You can search for photos of yourself using the "tags" feature - all the photos should be tagged with our names. Or, see all of the photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/corgi_t/sets/1368221/
Flickr will also let you download a high resolution copy of any of the photos for free if you are a member (which is also free).
We'll post the photos here on our group site soon.
Sorry Kitleigh and
Abby - I didn't get your message until today - but we hope we'll see you next month!
Hi Corgis,
My human just got back from her trip to London and has posted the
photos of us corgis for you to enjoy. You can see them in an album on
our group page (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sfcorgi) or, for higher
resolution, on Flickr
(http://www.flickr.com/photos/corgi_t/sets/72057594089090757/). If you
are a Flickr member (free), you can order prints or download the
photos to print yourself.
Enjoy! Woof!

Kitleigh here, with
Abby. At last week's meetup we were joined by a trainer guy with red hair
who had trained at the SF-SPCA special-special program, I remember he demonstrated
a no-bark, behavior substitution method that he had come up with. I’m
wondering, did anyone get his contact info?
He was telling me about
a good video on training agility moves using ball play. Ab's really
getting into balls, so I thought I might try to follow up with him on the
video. If someone did get his contact info, please do let me know.
Thanks!

but she's off to bed-ie-bye)
Hi Corgis,
I'm sending out this last-minute message to remind you that our
monthly meeting is tomorrow, March 11th, at 1 PM at the Mountain Lake
Park dog play area. Hope to see you there! I'll be getting in the
spirit with my new St. Patrick's Day collar, but my human won't let me
have any beer.

Hi Corgis,
I hope you are all enjoying the warm weather this week! It will be a
great day to have our monthly corgi playgroup. Here's all the details:
1 PM
Mountain Lake Park
8th Ave. and Lake St., San Francisco
Hope to see you there!

Hi Corgis,
Wow, my reminder is really going out at the last minute! Sorry about
that. I've been busy brushing up on cuteness and keeping the cat in
line.
Now that the holidays are over, I hope you can make it to this
month's corgi meeting. My human has made some colorful cookies for
us. They were supposed to be red and green as a late Christmas treat,
but they came out red and blue. I didn't want to hurt her feelings,
so I'm eating them anyway and hope you will do the same.
It might be kind of muddy at the park this month, so remind your
humans to wear old clothes and bring a towel for you if you're going
to be riding in the car.
Hope to see you tomorrow!

Hi Corgis!
It's almost time once again for our monthly Corgi meeting! My human
informed me that she can't make it this month. She needs to get her
priorities straight! I might still be able to come, if I can talk one
of my other friends into going. As a reminder, we meet at Mountain
Lake Park's dog play area, located at 8th Avenue and Lake St., around
1:00 PM on Saturday.
I'd also like to call your attention to another event on our
calendar: the SFDOG holiday party. It will be held at 7:30 PM on
Wednesday, December 14th at Fort Mason. This party is always a great
time, with holiday photos and refreshments for dogs and humans. The
presentation will be about dogs in movies. Of course, this is of
great interest to me, because I was born to be on film. If you can
make it, we will see you there. More information is available here:
http://www.sfdog.org/do/meetings.htm
Hope to see you all soon!

Hey, I see that tomorrow is the second Saturday of the month, are you
guys getting together to play? And what time does the event usually
happen?

Hi Corgis,
It's almost time for our monthly meeting. I had a bath last weekend,
so I can't wait to get out there and get dirty! I'm getting my human
to make some really exciting dog cookies today, so I hope you all can
make it and try some. At 2:15, the Fleet Week air show begins with the
Blue Angels and we'll be able to see some of it from the park. (It's
very loud, though!)
Hope to see you this Saturday at 1:00!

Hi Corgis,
I hope some of you can make it to our monthly meeting on Saturday! My
human can't come this month, but I'm trying to convince my friend
Liam's human to bring us both to the park (with cookies in hand).
I'm having a great summer and hope you all are too! If your humans
have taken any exciting pictures to show us all what you've been up
to, make sure to post them in our photo section. Woof!

Hi Corgis,
There is currently a vote scheduled in July to repeal a California
law prohibiting breed-specific legislation. This movement tries to
justify itself by saying that stricter regulation is needed for
breeds with bad reputations, such as pit bulls. But we dogs know that
allowing breed-specific rules can lead to all kinds of doggie
discrimination. (In Italy, even Corgis are classified as violent dogs
and are not allowed to be kept by children:
http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=8131 )
Please encourage your humans and their friends to sign this petition
if they live in California. The best way to prevent dog bites is to
use education for humans while treating dogs consistently and fairly.
If you want more information before signing, there are some links at
the bottom. I especially enjoyed the pit bull quiz.

ABOUT BSL:
Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is not a humane, appropriate
or effective way to address the issue of problem/aggressive dogs.
To learn more about the cons of BSL, please review the
information available on these websites:
<http://www.stopbsl.com/bsldiscussion.htm>
<http://www.realpitbull.com/laws.html>
<http://www.understand-a-bull.com/BSL/AlertPages/California.htm>
How do we legislate and make life-or-death decisions based on
breed, when breeds are difficult to determine in so many cases?
Accurate identification of a breed is difficult for most people
and impossible in many (esp. mixed-breed) situations. To see for
yourself, just try taking this quiz to get an idea of how
difficult it can be to accurately identify an American Pit Bull
Terrier:

Hi Corgis (and Humans),
I wanted to write to personally remind you about our monthly meeting
this Saturday. We'll meet at 1 PM at the off-leash area of Mountain
Lake Park, located near the intersection of 8th Avenue and Lake St.
At this meeting, my human will be collecting registration forms for
the SF Giants Dog Days of Summer. We'll bring the forms; you'll need
to bring a check or credit card to cover admission for you and your
human. We'll send in all the forms together so that our seats will be
in a row (subsequently, your tickets will be mailed directly to you).
If you are interested in Dog Days, but you can't make it on Saturday,
please e-mail us and we will make arrangements to get your form by
mail or fax. Here is the full information:

Hi Trish, and all San Fransisco Corgis !
I was very suprised when I got a message from Trish to ask me to use
my Welsh Corgis photo for this group, but it's an honour, thank you
Trish !
To introduce:
Me, FLO, I'm French, but living in Japan.
NANA is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (right one on the photo), she 'll be
7 next month (June 05), she was born in Japan.
UYANGA is a Cardigan Welsh Corgi (left one on the photo), she'll be
2 next month too (June 05), she was born in France, like me.
If you want to know more about us, please, visit our site:
http://corginanaflo.gogo.tc/index.htm
and sign the Guest Book or the Guest Map, please ! ;0))
My English isn't so good, but I like very much to use it, so, I'll
be happy to know you and to speak with you about the subject I
prefer: CORGIS !!!
Have a good day,
from Flo.
Hi Corgis,
It's time to start looking forward to the Dog Days of Summer! This
event will be on August 6th this year. It is held at SBC park. Dogs
can attend a Giants game with their humans and enjoy a costume contest
and parade around the field beforehand. I had a lot of fun at this
event last year with my friend Boba. Besides watching the game, I also
tried to mooch hot dogs and beer from the humans sitting around me.
However, my mailbox costume could not compete with "Barky Bonds."
If you and your human(s) are interested in going to the game, I
suggest we all order our tickets together. Information has not yet
been mailed, but last year, a human/dog combo ticket cost $35
(includes two seats and a gift bag; last year we got Giants collars)
and additional human tickets cost $18 (includes one seat only). Maybe
we can collect checks at next month's event, or we can use paypal. Ask
your humans what they would like to do and have them reply to this
message.
You can see a picture of me at the game last year in the photos
section on our website.
