Thought y’all might like to know about some classes that will be coming up at the Peninsula Humane Society.  The Pet First Aid class is on a Sunday, is 4 hours long, and is extremely helpful!!  I took it about 6 months ago and I feel that it was well worth the time and $45 registration fee!!  Who knows, it may help save your pet one day!!

Anyways – if anyone is interested, please contact the numbers below.

Have a great day!!

~Gwen~ (:>

The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA’s

Creature Features presents…

Getting to Know Your Dog

Thursday, August 21st, 6:30-8:00pm

Want to start off on the right “paw” with your new dog?  We’ve designed this annual class for people who are preparing to get a dog or have recently added one to their family.  Participants will get advice on:

-         housetraining

-         jumping

-         walking on a leash without pulling

-         mouthiness

-         introductions to animals already in the household

and other issues new adopters commonly face

The effects of breed and age on behavior will also be addressed.  Join our Behavior experts for an informative evening!  (Please leave your dogs at home.)  Held at 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo.  To sign up, call the Behavior Department at (650)340-7022 x306.

Pet First Aid

Sunday, September 21st, 1:00-5:00pm

This course is for anyone who works with, or cares for, dogs and cats.  It covers the immediate care for an injured or suddenly ill pet until veterinary care is available.  The focus is on basic first aid and CPR.  You can minimize trauma, safely transport pets, and even save their lives if you are properly prepared!

The instructor, Peter Pay of Need to Know Training, is certified by the American Safety & Health Institute.  Class size is limited and there is a $45 fee including materials.  Held in the PHS/SPCA Auditorium, 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo.  Please call (650)340-7022 x308 to register in advance.
