Hello. I'm new to the group and wanted to let you know a little bit
about me and what I do. I hope I don't get into trouble for posting
this!!! I have been rescuing horses and ponies for over ten years. I
am a private rescue at this point, but I am applying for my 501C3. It
seems that my rescue operation has gotten larger than I can personaly
afford. I hate to have to turn away any horse or pony in need of care
or a loving home. Horses in my area are very hard to place unless
they are young and well trained. It seems that any horse in need or
an elderly horse that is sold for any less than $2000 goes to someone
who even with the best of intentions winds up neglecting the horse,
whether out of ignorance or actual intent. This is why it is
difficult to place horses in my area. I screen the people who adopt
horses form me VERY carefully and I monitor the condition, and or
progress of the sdopted horse. I also give advice to the people who
adopt my horses when I think they might need it. So under these
circumstances, it takes a considerable amount of time for me to place
a horse. Any helpful donation items such as wormer, feed suppliments,
tack, grooming supplies, etc. would be very gratefully accepted, as I
am operating out of my own pocket, which doesn't hold a lot!!
Unfortunately, since I do not have the 501c3 clearance, I cannot give
reciepts for cash donations to make them tax deductable without
recieving one heck of an audit!!! Even a donation of five dollars
helps to buy a few bales of hay, a bag of grain, lumber for horse
stalls, horse shoes, or gives me a start on paying vet and farrier
bills!!! I have a PayPal account, but it doesn't accept credit cards.
(I can't even afford that extra fee!!!) The account is under
blondecowgirl66@..., the same as my email address. If you have
ANYTHING that you can donate to help my cause, please do not hesitate
to email me for my mailing address. I hope that someone can help me
out, at least a little bit. Thanks so very much!!! Wendy

Hello everyone,
  I thought I would let everyone know about my new horse group. The link is Hello
everyone, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/horses_forever_and_always.
Here is a breif description of the group.
Here at Horses Forever And Always you can talk about your horses non-stop, as
any horse owner would do. Send pics advertise and you can learn things from one
another. This group is not made so you can attack one another. Each post/reply
will be moderated so nothing gets by that doesn't have anything to do with
horses. You can also advertise horses for sale, stallions at stud, and websites,
also anything else 'horse' related.
I hope many of you join as all of you are keen on the world of horses and you
can help those with not as much excperience. But I will be moderating all the
posts.

The Holidays are coming and if you don't know what to get that
special horse person in your life, perhaps an enrollment into one of
Equine-Reproduction.com's Short Courses may be the perfect gift! To
help with the expenses of the holidays, we're running a special!
Purchase an enrollment by December 31st and the cost is just
$175.00!! That's a $75.00 savings off of the usual cost of
$250.00! If you save just one veterinary call next breeding season,
you will have paid for the course!

Alternatively, if you are the significant other of a stallion owner,
how about purchasing a semen freezing package. It's good insurance
against the sudden injury or loss of your stallion. Contact us for
more details and availability of our mobile freezing unit.

Each two-day course will be intensive and cover a wide variety of
topics that the equine breeder will find useful and which will guide
them towards having a more successful breeding season. The courses
expose breeders to traditional breeding methods and practices, newer
ideas and technologies available to the industry, as well as
presenting some interesting alternatives to more conventional
methods of horse breeding. For example - there are photos on the web
site showing how to ground collect a stallion for artificial
insemination (go to http://www.equine-
reproduction.com/courses/seminars.shtml and follow the link from the
completed seminars). Each participant receives a set of course notes
that are themselves a valuable reference source. You will find
yourself referring to them time and again when you have a question
about breeding and/or reproduction!

The courses are offered throughout the United States. Below is a
current list of locations and dates (more locations and dates will
be added as locations are confirmed):

Roseville, California - January 10th & 11th, 2004;
Bakersfield, California - January 17th & 18th, 2004;
Albuquerque, New Mexico - January 24th & 25th, 2004;
Fayetteville, Arkansas - January 31st & February 1st, 2004;
Alpharetta, Georgia - February 7th & 8th, 2004;
Clemson, South Carolina - February 14th & 15th, 2004;
Southern Pines, North Carolina - February 21st & 22nd, 2004;
Ipswich, Massachusetts - February 28th & 29th, 2004;
Mequon, Wisconsin - March 6th & 7th, 2004;
Rapid City, South Dakota - March 13th & 14th, 2004;
Dallas/Ft.Worth, Texas - September 18th & 19th, 2004
Houston, Texas - September 25th & 26th, 2004;
Birmingham, Alabama - October 2nd & 3rd, 2004;
Gainesville, Florida - October 16th & 17th, 2004;
Lexington, Kentucky - November 6th & 7th, 2004;
Lansing, Michigan - November 20th & 21st, 2004.

Class sizes are limited, so enroll early to ensure your spot!

We hope to see you at one of the seminars, but if you are unable to
attend, please visit our website at http://www.equine-
reproduction.com It offers a wealth of information for breeders,
veterinarians and reproduction specialists. Also, please
participate in the surveys we have on the site as they are intended
to assist breeders in making informed decisions!

Hello everyone,
  I am giving a chance to everyone to take a look at my site (not done yet), the
link is http://hometown.aol.coom/warmblood101/home.html I am only as far as the
sales page. Here is what I am thinking for adverisment on my site (mostly
horses, links are welcomed).

1) Sales ~ Sales is a basic page. The catagories for horses for sale are:
     a) Foals
     b) Yearlings
     c) Two year olds
     d) Three year olds
     e) Riding horses
      f) Broodmares

Now for foals ~ any horse under a year (once a year, if still for sale, will
automatically be moved to the yearling page, and son and so forth).
Yearlings ~ any horse a year of age.
Two year olds ~ a horse of the age 2.
Three year old ~ a horse of the age 3.
Riding horses ~ any horse started under saddle. After the riding horses are
selected, there will be another list for rider ability:
     a) Beginner
     b) Intermediate
     c) Experienced
Then a list of horses will come up (ads).
Broodmares ~ any mare that is not a ridding horse.
*If you have a horse that does not match one of these catagories let me know.

2) Studs ~ The stud page is again another normal page. Here you will come across
a list of breeds and once a breed is selected a new list will come up with a
list of stallion names, once a stallion is selected you will come to his ad.

3) Links ~ The links page again is a normal page. Here I can advertise your
site.

THIS IS THE REQUIRMENTS FOR THE CATAGORIES!!

1) Sales ~ Here are the requirments for all the horses (any additional
information needed is with the age group):
       a) Name
       b) Breed
       c) Gender
       d) Registered (Yes or No or Pending)
       e) If yes with who?
        f) Color
       g) height (estimated or/and current)
       h) weight (if available)
        i) Date of birth
        j) Temprament (1-10) (1 being very calm)
       k) Pedigree (only if you want it included)
        l) A home page if one is avialable
Now for the extra stuff:
       a) Foals ~ halter trained (Yes or no)
       b) Yearlings ~
       c) Two year olds ~
       d) Three year olds ~
       e) Riding horses ~ Rider level (Beginner, Intermediate, Experienced)
                               ~ Trained in
                               ~ How much training (months)
        f) Broodmares ~

Also you can ad more information to this. Tell me anything you want about the
horse(s).

2) Studs ~ For stallions I'd need:
      a) Name
      b) Breed
      c) Registered (Yes or No or Pending)
      d) if yes what registry?
      e) Height
       f) Weight
      g) Date of Birth (DOB)
      h) home page (if one is available)
       i) Pedigree (if you would like it added)
And any other item you would like to mention, like, for example: Show results.

3) Links ~ for the links page I need to check out a site and make sure it is a
horse related or all horse site. Also if you could tell me a little about the
site (waht you breed, what you specialize in, ect.).

Remember all these services are free and will stay free. If you would like a
picture with your ad or ad(s) (sales or studs) I am more than willing to ad one
for nothing. Please send me the information I requested, of you would like to
advertise with me. It is easier if I can add the ad when I'm working on the
site. You can privatly e-mail me at cmemud@.... Thank you.

We have a growing and informative club where equine enthusiasts can
share ideas, answers, and their love of horses.

The above is from the homepage. OK, I have a question. As you know,
I am wanting to offer my stallions for stud service. I need to put
up more cross-fencing and run-in, etc for mares. Does anyone have
any thoughts on how to do this without going to Lowe's and spending
an arm and a leg. I want it safe for horses and to look nice.
Someone once mentioned using garage doors, but that is not my thought
of looking nice and being strong enough (safe) for horses. Any
comments?

I added some pictures of my crew in the photo section of the list
under Mistar Ranch. Take a look when you get time.

I'm leaving Tuesday 11/11 for Bismark,ND from the Kalamazoo/Gr Rapids area in SW
Michigan--and have room for 2 (possibly more) on the way out there and at least
1 space on the way home. This is a 6' x 8' area for your horse to move around in
with hay and water in front of them constantly on the trip.
One way is $425 (or less if drop off is shorter then the full one way trip)--and
if I haul either end of the haul over 50 miles farther to pick up or
deliver--I'll have to charge more. I am looking for horses/ponies to go that
distance or pick up/delivery along route. Please e-mail direct-

Hello,
   I thought since I haven't been psoting much I would share with you what
happended to me two weeks ago. I was at my uncle's, like usually, and my aunt
and myself were grooming one of their mares that I just adore and love to ride.
So we get her all cleaned up and put this kind of showing stuff that makes their
soats really shiny and slippery. Well, the bottle said 'Safe for saddle area' so
of course we used it and we tacked her up and took her out to the arena to go
for a ride. So once in the arena we pull up a chair we use as a mounting block,
and I get my foot in the sturrup and I jump up to get on her and once I was
almost laying on the saddle the saddle slid right on her side!!! Oh and this is
happening to the mare that isn't what you'd say the soundest horse ever, but yet
she is sound, if she wasn't I wouldn't be able to ride her. So, I fell and
cought the chair with my leg, the next day my leg ws bruised all over(not a
pretty sight). But thank God that she just stood still, whew! Well my aunt put
the saddle back on right then she tightned it, then she jumped on her rode her
in a cricle and she did really well, both of them. Then my aunt gave another
opertunity to get on the mare and ride her but only if I was ok, so of course
being 13 and loving this horse and loving to ride her I said "Yea, I want to
ride her, I'm not shaken" so I hoped on and rode her for about 30 minutes and I
had a blast especially after falling when I tried to get on the first time.

Just thought I would share a bit of my life with everyone.

Kelly

   Hi all,

   In April of 2003, a very handsome black lab mix followed me home from
   a morning walk. He had lots of problems -- all of which have been
   corrected! However, he really needs a home of his very own! He has
   been kenneled at a Memphis, TN veterinary clinic since he was
   rescued. The doctors and staff at the clinic (as well as our
   volunteers) are all in love with Bob but all have many pets of their
   own. All of his information can be found at my rescue groups website,
   WellPetUSA -- www.wellpetusa.org. He is featured on the front page
   and at the bottom of every page of our site.

   Thanks in advance for your help in finding this great pet a loving
   home!
